  1. If you venture out for conger and Rays I think you may need leads up to 1.5lbs Braid helps to reduce the amount of lead required in tides. Oh, nearly forgot, some large floats for Bass fishing Coddy
  2. Think you have missed x3 comps! Coddy
  3. Hi Charlie Here is a link to the manual for your engine http://www.repairmanual.com/marine/2/17469 I know it is in US$ but might be able to find it at the libary or Amazon Coddy
  4. Hi Andrew Having moved down from Bedfordshire 3+Yrs ago I know what you are going through. If it is any help I run a web site for users to give their opinions of their craft, I have also included a number of reports from various locations. See my signature for the link. I too have a Warrior 165 and find it a fine craft and the 175 is reported to be even better but is a differant design regarding its hull and not just a foot larger than the 165. We have one club member who has one and I am sure he will report back to you on his thoughts. Regarding storage of the boat, it all depends on how big your wallet is, many of the marinas store, at a price, and where you wish to launch from. I would advise you I personally think Baiter slip is the worse slip I have come accross but it is THE only public slipway where you can launch at a reasonable cost. If you want to know of other storage locations PM as I can advise you where I keep mine at a more reasonable cost. Regards Dave aka Coddy
  5. Hi Steve Look forward to meeting you Dave S aka Coddy
  6. Hi Paul Well done on the fish, shame about the damage Worth getting a transom guard see here http://www.craysidemarine.co.uk/ then look at Specials then Stainless. I bought one for Sammy and it saves any worries about launching or recovery in shallow water. Each one is made for the model of boat. Coddy
  7. What a fish! Well done Steve, just hope there is a few left for me sometime soon Coddy
  8. Well done Alun what a fish of a lifetime! What an end to a super year for you as well on the fishing and working front. I can see you looking for a bigger boat soon Coddy
  9. Hi all Did not fish the local comp today as I had already arranged a meet with a group of friends to have a fish in the Solent waters. We launched at Hythe, what a super slip it is there! Tried for a few Flounders but no luck so 3 of us head down river to just west of the Bramble Bank. Soon into Pout and Whiting but my crewman Bill (aka Ferret) had a stonking bite and pulled in a plump 4.25lb coddling! This was the first cod on Sammy for over 3 years, well done Bill. Agreed not large but a good eating size and full of sprats which it spewed out in the net. Hope others who went out or was in the comp had an equally good day. Coddy

  11. Hi all With a good weather report but the wrong tides for me to recover I had a quick trip out today. My crew today was my two sons who fancied a trip out. Launching the boat was easy as almost high tide at 8am but the sea fog in the harbour was quite dense so a slow trip up the harbour was needed. Got to Brownsea castle and the fog had lifted so we headed out towards the Isle of Wight. Meet Shelia Marie whith a slight problem and stopped to give any assistance but none required. The fog was still about in patches so I headed for Christchurch Ledge instead where we quickly arrived due to an almost flat calm sea. Down went the pick and I let my sons' fish and I played charter skipper preparing bait, unhooking and taking pictures. We were into pout almost instantly but it was slow going as the tide rushed through. I suggested a move after about an hour and we head back towards Poole stopping off at Southbourne Rough. As soon as the baits hit the bottom the pout were on them and they had a steady stream of fish coming aboard. One was a good size 13/4lb but nearly all of its tail fin was missing. We also had a whiting and only one dogfish which is unusal these days. Nice day out on a flat sea with a little warmth from the sun. Did not miss fishing but it was good to see the lads catching fish. Happy Christmas to you all and I hope Santa brings you what you want. Coddy

  15. Charlie My Mariner prop spins when started with muffs on in neutral but will stop of any resistance is put on it. It could just be the shear pin arrangement that has failed. Might be worth taking the prop off to check. I think I have seen some exploded views of the Johnson engines on the net somewhere, just need the engine size/age. Coddy
  16. Charlie Check out Towsure http://www.towsure.com/category/7250-Teles...c_Jockey_Wheels or http://www.trailerpartswarehouse.co.uk/tra...keys_props.html or http://www.western-towing.co.uk/acatalog/J...els_Clamps.html Max load for the Paj is 100kg on the tow ball but will take some lifting by hand! Suggest around 75 - 80kg would be better. If you have a keel band nylon rollers help but as they are so hard if the boat bounces it can damage the keel. Crayside sell them http://www.craysidemarine.co.uk/ look under the menu of "Specials" to read about it. Hope the above helps Coddy
  17. Congrats to Rob for being a BIG winner I would also like to thank Paul J for his hard work and all those who helped make the week-end enjoyable The bacon buttys were great - thanks to the ladies Coddy

  21. Hi all In case you have not heard, Colin Penny, skipper of Flamer3 out of Weymouth, was suddenly taken into hospital on Thursday 6th Dec. I was due to go out with him on the Friday but have only just been informed of the situation. I am sure we all wish him a speedy recovery and returns to fishing as soon as he is able. Coddy
