    Link Page??

Can you send me the details of the company who are doing it? Basically I need a shallow U S/S piece made up, similar to a handrail, about 600mm long, with a tube clamp on each end to enable it to be clamped to my radar arch....on this I will then mount 2 x spot lights for coming back in at night.
  2. I have one fitted to the tonneau cover of BW. I out it one everytime I get home after a trip and basically it just trickle charges / stops the batts draining. Dont know how effective it is, but I have never charged the batts and I always have full power when I go out. Adam
  3. Rich, Nice one..it is already 50/1. I cant make Thurs due to work, but when we go stinger fishing week after Ill bring it along, it is slightly less than 25l..about 15. Cheers
  4. Whilst we are on the subject of fuel, and a comment Newboy made...I have a 25l tank which I aquired, however it is full of old 2 stroke mix, and therfore no good for my 4 stoke, how or can I get rid of this??
  5. Well a few hours of hard work, plenty of cups of tea and a few bruised knuckles and shes done - both sides. The wheels now speen freely and the brakes grab perfectly!...surprisingly she is now much easier to move up and down the drive by hand than she was before. Also took the oppertunity to clean, strip and re-pack the bearings whilst we were at it. Although I will replace them at the end of the season.
  6. However - quick call to indespension in Soton, very helpful....Im off in a mo to get the replacements.
  7. Bournemouth Trailer Center has moved....its now Wessex Trailers and they are in Bridport!
  8. Mike, I have heard it said on a number of occasions...See here paragrapgh 5 I think a use of another forum with the same boat as me has also mentioned it. Are they easy to change?
  9. Anyone!!!.....?????
  10. Newboy,....you may find the tanks closer to home...on the pbsbac stool even!!! I have 2 x 5G tanks Im flogging at the jumble....mind you they are in good nick, but are metal affairs - may not look slick enough on your new boat!..thats why i changed them to nice new plastic mariner ones.....
  11. Right. Bought a pair of circlip pliers today - essential if you have to remove a circlip as i do...8 quid well spent! it seems one of those things that once you have done it once it is easy! Got the hub off in about 5 mins. then i could see the problem! ....the brake linings have become detached from the shoes and jammed causing them to rub severely! ...that explains why i can hardly move the trailer at the moment! A word of warning here to all trailer users: I have heard that if you reverse your trailer into the water too soon after towing the cold impact on the hot shoes can cause the linings to detach....I thought I was always really careful leaving at least 10 mins??? Anyway - hopefully Bmth Trailer Centre will have new shoes in stock???? and I can complete the job tomorrow. Adam
  12. Thanks coddy - yours is the answer Ive been looking for!!!!! Ill try it tonight. I am now proposing that once the bearing savers are off, I can ger the hub nut off and take the whole hub off - will this then give me access to the drums so I can look at the shoes? Also - they are obviosuly binding, once I get to them, why would they be binding and how do I stop it?
  13. I do as Mike suggested - I carry 2 x 5 gallon tanks, which get rotated as I use them - always fresh fuel. If Im going offshore or a long trip, I take another 5 as a researve. As an idea - Poole around to the tope grounds to the west and back home with plenty of re-anchoring and drifting in big tides will use my 10 gallons. I would suggest you need at least another 5g tank.
  14. NO!! If you recall, we dont realease any info, you have to wait until the prize giving to see if you have won! Anyway - its no over until the fat boy sings. I'm defneding my titel until the very bitter end. When you start singing on the last match it will be over!!! PS: where's my bribe for letting you pip me on Sun??....should have wiped the floor with you and be done with it!

    Link Page??

Who posted and can anyone remember the link for the company that supplied S/S fittings of various types? I think it was when jimbob was after a radar arch...??? Anyone?
  16. I know it is Martins BBQ on Sat eve, but the FPO is working all day sat, so I have a free pass....anyone fancy a trip out? The forecast is for very light winds, so I may push a little further offshore than usual for the blondes, or head west for the tope. Launching early 6am? back around 3pm latest.
  17. Cheers guys... Very helpfull link. the author says it can be used for non commercial purposes...should we put it as a link on the main page?? Ill jack her up again tomorrow and have a bash. I dont think anything is wronf with the bearings, just the shoes bonding for some reason?
  18. Right.... Bought a trolley jack today to do the job safely. Up she went - binding alright, pretty hard to turn infact. Slackened off the cable - no change....tried the bolt on the back (is this the adjustment???) and that made no diff. either. Cant work out how to get the drum off to have a look at the shoes either. No Im really stuck! Help????

    Overloaded ?

Maybe...if they were going out to sea. definatly, but if being used as a tender - they all have lifejackets on, and ribs generally can carry more persons than our boats for their size. Best (worst??!!) moment sunday was the chap with home-made boat on his homemade trailer. Boat was an attempt at a cat..but looked like it had been made with carboard and sticky back plastic...trailer was a flat bed chassis (car trailer) with a piece of 18mm OSB board bolted to it He had the whole slipway, and took about 3/4 hour to get the boat out of the water...a que of around 15 boats had amassed both in and out if the water whilst we waited. Sometimes it jsut beggers belief!
  22. I have a problem and need solutions / suggestions.... Before I left the slip on Sun, James lent me his grease gun. To show me how it worked he clipped it onto the offside trailer wheel hub and gave it 3/4 good pumps. On arriving home, grease had leaked out and covered the wheel (not too much of an issue - as I suspect it may have been overfilled?) but what was more concerning was that the wheel was RED hot! The grease on the wheel was boiling and bubbling. Now I surmise that wheels heat up due to friction? If I have filled the hub with loads of grease their should be no friction, and therfore no heat??? All I can think of is that the brakes are binding on the drums and causing heat this way......could I be right?? If so, how do I remidy this?? Adam
  23. Its got nowt to do with spawnyness - its the speed he fishes...it makes me feel dizzy. I dont know anyone who can bait up, cast, hook, play and land 3 fish all at the same time whilst having a fag and eating a sandwich!! It makes BW look like a bomb has hit it at the end of the day mind!!!
