  1. All, The latest species / tactics article has now been published on the main page. Have a look!! Adam
  2. hmmm,,...as am I!!! Billy, do you fancy crewing for me on Sun?? If so, maybe Maverick and BW with Bob & Billy for crew could hit Weymouth? Adam
  3. Well, after the glowing reports Billy gave on Weymouth..who fancies a trip to Weymouth next weekend? Adam
  4. Undecided?... Similar to you. 1.) Little tides and crew I will go west 2.) Big tides and crew - either Weymouth or the needles banks 3.) Most likely option is that I will launch later and fish later on the ledge for eels? What do you fancy? Adam
  5. Martin, Dont quite know yet? I have a pass from the FPO for Sun, but have no crew and dont know where to go?? Where are you going? Adam
  6. Sun is looking the best day for me both weather and time wise. Anyone else going out? I will probably go regardless, so will need crew also, any takers?

Dan, If you want to try the ledge for eels, just let me know...you are more than welcome to fish alongside us one night. BTW - Night is generally best time for eels on the ledge. To get them during the day, you need to be 100'+ of water off the back of the Needles. Adam

Easy to catch!!!...only if youre me or my 16 year old brother!!!...how many did you manage last time Rich!!!
  10. Nice one Newboy!! I'm well pleased for you! - I think the Cormoron was the best option - quite jealous actually!! www.boats&outboards.co.uk is the best place to look - hundreds of engines are available - just a case of waiting. I would say however that I would advise you to spend as much money as is possible on the engine - it probably is more critical than the actual boat itself. Fibreglass rarely breaks - engines do. Seeing then running is a big advantage also. Good luck! - Ill keep my eyes pealed!! Fitting the boat out is also a huge task - BW came kitted out pretty good, but since I have spent a small fortune!...Im a way it is better I feel, at least this way you get what you want, where you want it, you get to fit it - so you know how it works when it breaks! etc, etc. If you need a hand or any advice - just ask.

  16. Thats why I use Christchurch!!! On a more serious note..I agree, but once again, a loosing battle? What can we do? I suppose, at least we can launch / moor (just about) as opposed to the poor chaps elsewhere who have to use the beach...thats a thought?..how would the council take to me launching BW off Bmth beach on a hot sunny Sat in Aug??

  21. Thanks Bob....however I have always been told that I should get Pains Wessex Flares, and not go for any of the cheaper ones????
  22. I agree Charlie, I think either crock clips, or a ciggie style lighter would be the best bet?...
  23. Hi coddy! You are more than welcome matey, anytime. You are indeed correct, small boats and night fishing can be a potentialy dangerous combination, although with careful planning and a little common sense can also be very exciting and the fishing can be electric!! I do have lights on the boat, they are just concealed!. I have 2x 12" flourcsent tubes in the cuddy, and I use the light from the anchor/steaming light - this combined with a head torch for baiting up, and a 1,000,000 candle power spot complete the lighting set-up. I also usually wear a lifejacket at night, and make sure that I am well prepared in terms of all the safety kit. The weather forecast is the final consideration - we only go out on a perfect forecast. Bit too much to type here, when youre next down, well give it a bash!

    Broadband

Im with Wannadoo, no problems, quite happy. AOL are doing unlimited at the moment for 19.99 per month. Id look for one with free connection though, thats what I got, and it worked out pretty reasonable. Adam
  25. No problems! - Rag is a good bet, this will catch you wrasee and pollock. Drift the 'castle' which is where the ferries dock on brownsea. Position yourself close to the pontoon (as long as no boats are there!) and drift back down the harbour. Nice simple rigs as the bottom is rough. Drift the chain ferry for bass with (preferably live) sandeel for bass, but beware at busy times, early morning or late eve is your best bet. If you can get just outside the harbour, the training bank is good to drift with rag for plaice and bass - it is usually pretty sheltered here during a WSW ish wind.
