  1. Hi ziplex, yep thats mine alright. I have had her only for 3 months, before that I had a boat similar sounding to yours - wanted a Warrior for 4 years, but had to save up for one and then find one!! I think they are very good - as with all boats it depends on what you want from it, I wanted a fast, smart roomy fishing boat that could double up for playing around with friends or family. Highly recommended! Adam
  2. I think I will try and come guys....its about 70% at the moment. If so Ill meet Coddy at the slip and give him a hand - its always nice to have someone around when at a new venue. I will confirm Fri eve. The weather is SW Force 4, so may not be too nice, best to play it by ear. I will also need crew for the day, any takers?
  3. Right, the last thing on my list before I can have my safety check is flares. I already have 6x handheld 'personel' flares onboard, but need the proper set. Offshore, Coastal or Inshore? I fish 99% of the time within 5/6 miles of nearest land and probably 10-15 miles from nearest port. I know you cant put a price on safety, but bearing in mind how much these bloody things cost - I just want to have the right ones. Adam
  4. Thanks Malc, I have submitted them an enquiry, Ill let you know how I get on. Cheers Adam
  5. Same here then really. We have fished the same productive marks as last year, and although we have had a few good fish, nothing like we were getting last year. Mind you, we were fishing a little later in the year in 2003, so maybe there is time yet for it to pick up.
  6. Very poorly, a few dogs, a lobster, a wrasse and a pout. Didint fish for long though, weather wasnt nice! Didnt fair much better last night on the ledge, seems to be fishing slow at the moment?
  7. I have managed to get my Aux. 4hp Mariner started. It was a severely cracked fuel hose which was the problem. I taped it temp. to get her started, but now I need to replace the part. I have looked everywhere on the net for the part no., but it is hopeless. Where should I go to get the replacement part? was rather hoping for an online ordering system, but cant find one anywhere, so off to a local marine engineer I think? Any suggestions?

Not to dear as I only want it as a back-up...anyone have one knocking around they want rid of? Adam
  9. Mark B and I knocked off early today. A slight window in the weather gave us a chance at getting out for a few hours. Forecast was 3-4 S/SW, it was at least a 4 southerly when we got out the harbour, not nice! Down to 6 knots over the ledge as we punched through the waves! Mackeral easy to find, no probs. I wanted to head off the IOW banks, but too rough, so settles in a 80' hole over the back of the ledge. A handful of pack tope to kick off, then a few doggies, the nothing. So we move. Doggies, nothing, move again, dogiies nothing, move again, bream, tompot blenny, doggies - nothing. Then rigged up a pair if storm lures and trolled then all the way back to the harbour at 4 knots - guess what?....nothing!! The fishing just seemd really poor out their tonight, I suppose you get trips like that!. Anyway, nice to be out for a few hours and also get home at a reasonable time. Adam
  10. Hmmm I know. I dont need to splice it though, its more of just a general purpose rope to keep on the boat. At the moment I use the 2x mooring lines that came with her. However they are massive! 25mm? I think, and 'traditional' rope shaped, ie. twisted. They also are rotting slowely, are heavy, hold the water and take up loads of space!
  11. Yep....me? Why what happened? Does that explain why Im so skint?....no that will be the blue and white thing sitting in my drive!!!

Thanks Chalie - a comprehensive insight, much appreciated. It sounds similar to the way I want to do it. I wouldnt mind a look one evening?...sounds like an excuse for a conger trip?!
  13. Hi Duncan, and welcome to the site! - I think you are our 60th registered user! As for advice, you wil soon pick up these things by reading and contributing to the threads. Trying to answer all your questions in one go would take forever! Pick a topic at a time, then post it in the appropreate forum, we have never been so busy, so the problem will not be getting advice, but sorting through the mountains of opinions you are given. We have a fantastic cross section of members both in the club and on the forum, so we should be able to answer most things! Good to have you aboard! Adam

Hi Coddy! - Was reading your report on the IAC pages earlier, is Sammy your boat? Thanks for the input. I will think hard before making any adjustments, after all how often am I likely to use the live pump? I think the live wells in the warrior are a great idea, but find them a little small, maybe OK for sandeels, but mackeral are a no go. Adam

Ive had a few discussions...and I am thinking of the following.. 1x big blue vat, like the charter boys use. Buying a bigle pump and attaching to the side of the vat. Plumbing into my existing bilge, so that I can get the old water out, and just hanging the intake over the side. This way I can take on and off the livebait well as I need it. What do you think?
  16. Probably best not to launch from Christchurch... James cant come now, so you are welcome to crew for me. I havent decided definatly yet, going to have a look at the weather first. Ill call you in the morning if your still up for it? Adam
  17. ummm... 10/12mm?
  18. I may pop out for a few hours 2moro (tues) from Xchurch if anyone fancies it? Out about 3pm, back about 9pm. I have crew, so youll need a boat! Adam
  19. Before I buy new, does anyone have a small amount (5-10 mtrs) of quality braided rope? The kinda stuff yachties use for the halyards etc? I want it as mooring rope, also as a 'painter' from the bow when launching and retreaving...the braided stuff is nice and smooth and sits on a cleat nicely. Adam

I know this one pops up every summer!.... But anyone know a reliable source of eels at the moment? I really fancy trying over towards the IOW with live eels for the bass. Also, I dont have a libe bait well...what is my best method for transporting them, and then keeping them alive once one the boat? A temporary solution would be good as I am unlikely to use an expensive pump unit on a regulat basis. Or, is it really worth the hastle?
  21. Once again Paul D has done a cracking job maintaining the front page - well done mate! The latest addition is the 48hr Match Report - Here Adam
  22. We should have entered the Lymington Open! - may have cleaned up!
  23. Correct, 71 for me. Charlie, - I have emailed you my results. Tough day. Really struggled for the mullet - they seem very cagey this year??? Out at sea was only a little better - the bonus fish really never showed, but we kept at it and managed to bag max points on the 'easy' species. Not a nice day though! - we are due a nice calm spell again! This was the worst sea Ive had BW in so far...at the end of the day we were facing into 10' breaking rollers coming over the Beer Pans, she just took them in her stride! - I just kept keep getting more impressed with her! I think I will struggle to get out next weekend, esp. Sat, and sun will probably be a family and friends day on the boat.
  24. Sinbad, we were out Fri on Phaeton, on the ledge - which boat were you?
  25. Will be very interesting to see how it performs!...bet you cant wait?!
