Gunna stop for mackeral. I am taking crab and squid - catching mackeral on the way out.
  3. I do now!..... Bob and I were discussing the other day. It really is fool hardy to trail a boat without a spare. You wouldnt do it in your car, so why risk the trailer? In my mind the trailer is alot more dangerous than the car in a puncture or flat situation. I popped into Bmth Trailers on the Ferndown Est this morning and

    Cable??

Right!....all done! - Took me most of the day though I have my 85ah battery in the steering console. I have fitted a strap and 2 fairing blocks to stop the battery moving or sliding either left to right, forward or back or up and down. I went to Guardian Autoelectrics on the Woolsbridge Ind. Est on the reccommendation of a mechanic friend.

    Cable??

.....is that just a normal glass tube fuse????
  6. Hell's kitchen even ................
  7. Yeah....see the other post. I agree with the NSFA guidelines, but think that I would be unhappy submitting a fish if it was cuahgt in the tail for instance - I think I would then exclude it. Best way forward I think is just to follow the NFSA....its then up to the indiviual if they want to sumbit it.
  8. Oh, yeah. Of course its our annual Lymington trip....expect rain, thunder, floods, electrical storms!.......
  9. Hi Andy! - would be good to have you onboard!
  10. You wont need a winch Rich, Lymington slip is lovely. Like Weymouth but not a steep. My little Astra doesnt like anything other than Baiter though. Yep, it could well be busy, but with the weather and the fact we are laucnhing at 7am, I think we will be fine. Rich re. bait - I have a few hardbacks and squid, shall I get a few worms?

    Cable??

So do you think that I will suffer from resistance and / or heat build up using 10 / 16 sqmm cable?

    Cable??

Now Im really confused!!!! The console battery is my prefered choice, and Whippet says this is fine, however I am concerned about loosing power over the 5.5m run...... hhmmmmmmmmm

Dave, Space on BW if you like....youre more than welcome.
  14. I'm worried Bob......
  15. Although 'ripping' or 'jigging' for cod with a dozen 8/0 trebles may be considered unsporting!!!
  16. Different I know, but coarse fishing match rules (NFA) state that it doesnt matter where the fish is hooked - they all count.
  17. Mark, Sounds tempting, I may also join you in Weymouth for a change! A night on the quay sound interesting!

    Bugger!
  19. Martin, Bob may need a place, dont know if his boat will be back in time???
  20. Rich, yep on with me. Can you bring the Hi-Lux??
  21. Agreed! Was very strange launching BW with no rods aboard, but getting home and not having to jet wash rag and mackeral off the boat was nice! Really enjoyable day, and made a lovely change! - oh!, and great company! Fishing this weekend though!!

    Cable??

Right....went down to towsure and bought a battery yesterday. Bargin - 85ah, 28 quid! Now I need some cable to wire it in. I have changed my original plans as I dont have alot of room under the transom, so the batt is going in the console locker. Good as it puts weight up the front and is out of the way, but bad as it is 5.5m from the other batt and the isolation switch!!! I need 5.5m of + and 5.5m of - cable. Where from??????? Also the clamps and crimps?????? Also do I need to fuse this? I have fuses after the batt and before the engine and switch panel, do I need another??????
  23. A 4WD Rolling road will test it out - that is the usual method, I would have thought they would have suggested it??...Mind you a session is not too cheap, and a 4WD Rolling road is fairly hard to find. Basically this will produce a torque graph showing the power transmission to all four wheels and how they perform. They can also adjust the rollers to stress differnet wheels / parts of the transmission. Adam
  24. Basically the Piddle and Frome will be 'owned' waters, either by private or club owners. You have to draw a line somewhere, and the tidal influence makes no difference- clay pool in xchurch is a good example of this. Yes, they are trying to stop illegal fish removal, ie Sea Trout etc, but more importantly, someone is paying to fish / own the water, so people encrouching and fishing illegally are not welcome. Anyway - since when has using nets become 'fishing'!!!!
