The GPS is a Furuno unit, and the Plotter is Garmin - hence the 2 ariels. I know I am being fussy - but Id rather pay a little, wait a little, and get it right. Charlie - Ill try to remember to give you a call Mon. Basically if it is going to cost a fortune (more than say

I will be fishing with Jimbob. I presume youll all be fishing in and around Poole? Weather forecast is aweful! Force 6 and heavy rain!

When my new plotter arrives next week I will obviously have to fit it. My problem is that on my S/S fly bridge at the moment is 3 horizontal plates which span the two bars. On these are mounted: VHF ariel, white steaming light and my GPS ariel. I will need to also put my Plotter arial some where. Now call me a tart, but if I mount it on the rail, it will be out of line from the others. So what I need is someone to come round and weld me a 4" x 2" section of 2/3mm S/S onto my bridge. Is this possible? Is it going to cost me a fortune? Do any of you out there have this skill to help me out? Adam

I am after 1 x Quicksilver Fuel tank. Blue Warrior has 2 x steel tanks (the old fashion type) at the moment, blut I have seen Warriors with a pair of the Quicksilver jobbies on board - and they both fit neatly into the bilge pump recess. James had one lying around at his house - so ive nabbed that, just need one more. Searched and searched the web - but no cigar. They are made by Quicksilver (people who make the common throttle kits) they are red, and it is the small portable size. Help!!!

2 options. 1.) Call Warrior. - you can buy them as an aftermarket purchase.

Mark B, Bob F and I all took a sneaky day off work today - to get back out on the Shambles. Weather forecast was spot on - force 2/3 all day, and nice and sunny! Was due to take Blue Warrior - but Mark fancied the trip - so we took Loyal Royal. Ill spare you the long story - as Ive just got back - but the tally for the day was: Mark B - 10 Plaice (biggest 1.5lb) 1 Turbot (3lb ish) 1 Dab (7oz) 1 Ballan Wrasse (4lb 8oz) Adam F - 5 Plaice (1 of 1lb 12oz, 1 of 3lb 6oz) 1 Turbot (3lb ish but caught on Bob F's rod as he hauled anchor!!!! ) several small pollock and a few wrasse. Bob F - Blanked.......well almost! 1 Turbot (3lb ish) a few small pollock and Wrasse - Oh, and 1 launce and a doggy! Cracking day out though - liking Weymouth more and more! The fishing was also a lot better than last Sat also. Thanks to Mark B for being a top skipper, and Bob for providing the brunt of the day's ribbing!! Adam

Anyone tell me where the cheapest place is to get these? Ordred my new plotter last night! Garmin 182C Colour Plotter. Found a site in Denmark selling them for

Bob F and I enjoyed the trip on Sat so much - that we are having a sneaky day off work Thurs, and heading back out to the Shambles. Meeting on the slip at 7am, as before - if anyone wants to join us - please feel free. Adam

I need some net - type the trawler men would use I suspect. Does anyone have any lying around in thier garage? Reason I ask is that Pete Jnr very kindly made up a batch of S/S landing net frames. I have tried to source them commercially - just they just dont do them 'man enough' they are very fine - weak mesh. A contact on another forum has suggested using trawel mesh, then finding out how to do a net knot - before joining it around the frame. So: Who has some net, who knows how to tie a net knot?? Adam

Yeah your right Charlie - Sorry! Just tend to forget in the months we arnt fishing matches! Just send my small offering over on the automatic system. Im sure the others will shortly - especially the turbot!!! - Jammy BassTurds!!!

I carry a set of various bungs. They are available from all chandlers at a cost of a few pence. I cayy 2x spares for the main bung, and an assortment of rubber and wooden bungs. They have all kinds of uses. The other tip is to attach the bung to the keys for your boat. You always need your keys before launching - that way you should never forget! As for the next trip. I agree the Solent for Smoothies would be the best bet. Maybe DaveUK will host us again - as long as he promises better results than last year!!! Any ideas on dates? I also would like to repeat the Weymouth trip - either very soon for the Plaice before they go - or later in the year at a different mark. Adam

Thanks for the advice guys. I will source a cheap set of tools, and a suitable tool bag. I have also found a bag of 100 cable ties (assorted), a roll of insulation tape, and a roll of duck tape invaluable last year on Tara. Adam

Thanks for the offer Mike. Struggling to do anything this week - but how about early next week? Can I bring just the OB? - Do you have anything to bolt it to?. Also I think I need to cut the S/S barrel lock off - as the key wont turn. Tried WD40 - but no luck. Adam

Im happy to hava a go for you if you like. Have done loads of rod repairs in the past - both for myself 9bit heavy handed!) and for customers when I worked in the Fishing Lodge. From what you have discribed - the best way will be to strip the top section. Telescope the top through the bottom, and overwhip to add strength. Then re-whip the eyes. You will never achieve 100% again - but this method usually gives you about 75% of the rods strength. Although it depends on how bad, and where the split/break is. Let me know if you want me to have a go. Cant promise anything, and might be a few weeks as busy at mo. but Im happy to have a go. Adam

What tool kits do we all carry on-board? Do we go for expensive tools - look after them and theyll last? - or cheapies - just replace when they are knackered? Do we carry a full kit, or just the bare minimum? Where do you keep it on the boat, what do you keep them in? Just interested thats all?!!

What do you all think about having a proper write-up on the club outings, trail-a-ways etc on the main page? I have see other sites do it and it attracts people who do not bother to read the forum? I dont have a problem in typing them up? Adam

Guys, I would like to get some feedback on where we would like to go for our next trail-a-way. Some suggestions are: Solent, Start Point - Devon, Weymouth (again), Hayling, Nabb area Need to get moving as the calenders are quickly becoming full! Adam

Blue Warrior came with one of this fitted as an aux. Problem is I cant start it. I dont have any experinace of starting them anyway - it has several buttons that I dont know what for. Anyway before I take it in to be fixed - can anyone help me try to start it - as their may be nothing wrong with it. It is about 3 years old - but has only done about an hour's use.?? Any suggestions? Adam
