    Rope joining?

I have just picked up a new warp for my boat. The only prob is it is only about 40 mtrs long, and I think about 80-90 mtrs will be needed. It is reasonable quality rope - proper warp I think. My question. What is the best way to join the 2 together? I want to get as smooth seamless joint as possible? Adam PS. Where would you advise me to go to get my extra warp. Being in mind I dont really want pot rope?
  2. I'm surpised you arent booked a B&B for the night before! 5am - thats not early! - Not when your going fishing! - no time is ever too early! Adam
  3. I got several packs of starlites FOC with my order - good service! Adam
  4. I think at the end of the day - if they wanna nick it they will. - Regardless. The only thing we can do is try to deter. I have the hitch clamp. This stops then hitching it up and towing it away. I also have the wheel thingy, and an considering a hard point to chain it to. May concrete a big steel post into the ground and shackle it to that. My main outboard it bolted and locked into the transom, and the aux. has a wicked looking S/S barrel lockover the clamps. This has seized and I cant even do it with the key! Will be interesting to hear others views though. Adam

  6. Paul D - Caught you out!!! - I think?!! You need to go to your My Conrols, and select board settings. Then tick the BST box. Voila' - correct time! adam
  7. Blue Warrior has my mate Stuart (likely to pull out though - young kids and under the thumb! ) I was going to have BillyBoy, but Bob has him, so maybe Ill have Mike?
  8. Good. So: 7am at the slip - prompt. Launched by 8am At mark by 9am. Slack tide for an hour or so, gives us 5 hours of usable tide. Low is at 3pm, so good time to start to head in on the slack? Retreave boats at 4pm. Leave at 5pm Home approx 6pm. How does this sound. We have so far: Maverick - 3 Blue Warrior - 3 Splash Out - 2 Loyal Royal - 2 Others? - Enticer, Neo, ????
  9. Yep - should have raised it at the AGM. Hmmm - see your point, but surely the older fish have 'had their day' take them and leave the smaller ones to breed and continue the population. Adam
  10. http://www.ukho.gov.uk/tideprediction.cfm Tide times. Looks like we are launching into HW, retreaving at LW. I would therefore suggest an early start? What is the slip acces like at diff. states of tide? Adam
  11. Best forecast I can get is to Thurs. Force 3 N / NW. Pretty good? I have 1 crew at present. Could take another. What do we suggest as timings? What are the tides again? I could do with being back in at a reasonable time. Also it is a fare track for all of us back. Im thinking return to shore about 3/4pm. Home 5.30 / 6pm?? Adam
  12. Just looked it up. BFM June 03' p.15 Cod 40cm minimum Bass 45cm minimum The final comment was ' Maybe a small drop in a big ocean, but every long march begins with a small step' Could PBSBAC do our bit? Adam
  13. FBAC introduced an inceased minimum size for bass last year. This was well documented in the press. From 16" to 24" I think? Something we could think about? Adam

  19. Hooray!!!!!!!! Finally I have my Warrior! Over the moon is an understatment! Went and picked her up this morning with the very kind help of Bob F, who followed me home - cheers Bob, I owe you one! She is now sat in my drive, worrying the neighbours!! I would just like to say a thank you to everyone in the club who has given advice or helped me in any way to buy her - I would never have bought such a boat had I not joined the club, and the expertise, advice and help I have been given has been fantastic! I look forward to an even better summer than I had last year on Tara (R.I.P! ) Cheers Adam
  20. Which reminds me: I bought some braid a few weeks ago on there. Same as PD - Ghost green. Ordered 20 and 25lb. The 25lb was as advertised - very impressed, subtle colour, thin - perfect. The 20lb however, dispite being advertised as the same, was completly different. It had a flat profile, not round, was quite think and a different colour. I have used it last weekend. It performs ok, but I wouldnt buy it again. Ada,
  21. Tues / Thurs??
  22. Plus P+P though??!!
  23. basically a boat rod with a quiver tip! I might bring my coarse rods!! I must admit to being sceptical about them - although I am assured they are the mutts. - We shall see! Bring it on - be nice to christen Blue Warrior with a nice fat plaice!!
  24. From a few posts on the forum ,it seems that Paul J + D and I all have either time to spare or time off next week. With the weekends becoming crammed, I fancy a mid week Plaice trip - anyone fancy it? My boat wont be ready until Thurs, so Im out as far as a boat is concerned. ?????????? Adam
  25. I am helping Bob write the species / tactics section on the main site, as doing one a month is an impossible task, even in the quiet spell we are having now. Plaice is my first target. So any decent photos, tips on how to catch them, where, when etc is all greatly appreaciated. Thanks Adam
