    Shotgun Cabinet

A few weeks too late Brian & Tom - I just sold my 3 gun box. Suggest you keep and eye out here and here: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...28-other-sales/ http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/forum...r-sale-section/ I bought both my 3 gun and 10 gun Brattonsound boxes off these forums for less than 1/2 of what they cost new - all collected within Dorset, they come up all the time.

    Wishin update

The only 'known' fault I know of from looking at buying a 1.7dti Mercruiser a few years ago was caused by the heat due to the revs the little engine has to run to produce the HP - blown pistons etc... Hopefully you'll have a quicker easier fix being 'in the know' Good luck!
  5. Terry / Martin Can we get this moved to a new thread - with the amount of people going and all the weather planning, I can see us discussing crab cocktails with F3 SW and ebb tide medium rare steaks!
  6. Erm - thats one way of putting it! Basically as others have said, fast and comfortable dont go together with small fishing boats. If you want fast - youve got the right boat. If you want comfortable you'll need something fully dispacement, a good example would the 18' Plymouth Pilot - wont go much faster than 10 knots but smooth and comfortable. It's all a matter of compromise. Give the raider a few trips, they are a good boat and I'm sure youll get used to it. Adam
  7. Hi Jason, Saw your old boat out the other week. Hope your well. With the number of 165's in the club I'm sure someone would be willing to put their boat on a pontoon for a day if you cover the cost to allow you to use the trailer. Adam
  8. My obvious question although it doesnt help you - is didnt you have a ride before you bought it?! That aside - Ive not owned a radier 16, but a good mate has one and Ive fished from her many times. I wouldnt say the ride was hard, not as hard as a full catherdral hull, but as she has a gullwing hull (a half way house between a V and trihull / catherdral) a raider 16 will slap and bang a bit. My other point is that she is only 16' but feels bigger, so dont expect the ride of a bigger vessel. Finally - if youre used to ribs, almost anything will feel hard - they are very, very soft riding. Your set-up sounds fine to me. Adam
  9. Let the weather checking begin! http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/14days...ipcode=alderney
  10. 6 days until the 14 day forecasts kick in and we all start getting obsessed with weather patterns!
  11. It's not funny - it's flippin' awesome!!
  12. Will you sell seperatly? If so I might be interested in the tender.
  13. Guys, I cant find the fact sheet I did a few years ago, so Ive done another one. Hopefully the download link will work!! Adam
  14. For those of you who werent at the meeting last night: I've spoken with Mainbrayce. The current diesel rate is 97p per ltr - they will do us a 10% discount for our journey. Petrol isnt yet fully available in the marina by pump - they do have a 300l tank which you can decant from. So you'll need cans if you run petrol. There is now only 1 petrol station in Alderney and it closes at 12am! We have a special rate on the water taxi -

    Avet SX

I bought a pair of these From these guys: http://www.rokmax.com/product.php?prodid=1...X+Series+Reels+ Ive been looking for a decent reel to replace the Abu 7000 NLD's ive been using for a while now. Whilst the Abu's are OK, they are not a patch on the Swedish Abu's of old. I dont buy tackle on a whim, but prefer to find kit and stick to it.... and these Avet's fit the bill prefect. I'm fact I couldnt have designed a reel better myself. Tom B said he found them too slow - well they out cranked both Bob's Abu hi-speed 7 and Al's Shimano Tyrnos yesterday, so not slow at all! The drag adjuster can only be moved when the reel is out of gear - a nice touch that my Abu's lacked as frequent use of the Lever often meant your drag setting was changed. Super smooth, no 'clicky, click' like the Shimano's have. They feel very 'ergonomic' - just a joy to use, and Ive now found my perfect reel. The only downside is that it's going to be expensive and I'll need another 3 to tool up my 12lb class gear!
  24. Would have loved to - Rach really enjoyed the last one, but we are busy that weekend. Looking forward to the next one though.
  25. We struggled on JV today for the Plaice. Over 70 miles travelled and all sorted of tactics tried, but alas - no spotties.... well not the red spotted ones anyway..
