    Alderney 2016

No problem, I'll aim for Nov then. Charlie, if I still get to the meeting I'm happy to run through a few basics so you can use it on your hols. My best advise in the meantime is to get hold a a mixed mounting kit, something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181930585666

I'll try and get to the sept meet. What date is it?
  4. I'm failing to see the problem? Sounds like you are trying to fix bit of a non issue and spending a shed load of cashin the process? They look like decent well positioned tanks to me?

Guys, Managed to clip together a bit of footage from this year's Alderney trip on JV. You'll need to watch it on a PC as opposed to mobile device, as silly US Copyright laws prevent it from being available on all media. Was a little short of footage this time around due to skippering, catching and filming but nonetheless I've managed a snappy 2 min film to give you a taste of the trip. https://youtu.be/t7ogKlpaGys Adam
  8. What's the new boat then?

  10. Very good. Well done Greg, it's certainty kindled Reuben's interest from a passing vague interest to mega keen! All to play for!
  11. If this gets winded off, can it be moved to next weekend?
  12. Ideal Rob, especially as you want to give up the Open Comp, taking over the Juniors is a logic step! 👍
  13. 175. Another ex. Owner here. In my biased opinion no finer trail boat. If I went back to trailering if have another in a heartbeat. The MF at 586 is too small to be want it's trying to be, the 655 is the size where that configuration really kicks in. Make sure you get a big enough engine with the 175, 100hp +
  14. A fellow 'man hoarder' you never know when things might come in useful! I can't abide clutter in the house, but in the workshop.... Hoard away!
  15. I doubt you caught as many as I did mate - probably less hauling more repetative strain injury.... RSI
  16. I'm in a hotel tomorrow so will do JVs then, I've also got a bit of video to work up.... I've just about recovered from hauling turbot now...
  17. Staying with Mark, just sat here now watching the Olympics before we head down to the Maria Hall for a steak!!
  18. Well that was a shifty rough crossing! West 5 pushing 6 all the way over. Now sat in Braye with a well earned cuppa
  19. One of the few jobs I didn't tackle when I built JV was the fuel tank. She has a 400l stainless steel unit but the only access points are the various pick up and inlet points. Over the past 12 months the filters have been working harder and harder and even with twin Separ units we were emptying a bowl full of bug every 100 miles or so. It wasn't a job I fancied doing. With no access to pumping and filtration kit, no where to store 400l of fuel and not wanting to just dump that amount of fuel it was time to call in a man. I used Carl from CP fuel polishing who was a recommendation to me. Based in Poole, Carl makes it his business doing jobs just like this. He came down, pumped out and polished the fuel into 200l drums. Filled the tank with diesel cleaning detergent, cut a large access hatch which he took away to be fabricated into a permanent access point. Steam cleaned the inside of the tank and then dried it, fitted the new hatch and then polished the fuel back in again. The boy was left cleaner than I left it and the job very professional. I'd recommend him to the club should you need such a service. JVs fuel is now cherry red and crystal clear again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Greg, thanks for organising today. We had great fun on JV between Sam, Dom and Reuben. Isla declined to fish today as it was a bit rolly but she toughed it out nonetheless. I'll email the score sheets this week. Pics on the clubs Facebook page.
  21. Can I add my youngest to the list please? Isla Franklin
  22. I can take another two dads and kids. It think Charlie and Rob have those places?
  23. After postponing this weekend, the JV crew are again looking at dates around 9th to 15th July for another attempt. Any other boats fancy joining in?
  24. Sam, drop me a line over the weekend. My mother does wedding flowers and a good friend of mine does wedding photos mates rates. I'm happy to ask if both are interested.
  25. Any other suggestions guys before the summer runs out?
