  1. What? I don't believe for one moment that JV is wired in an absolute mess!? Could you please PM me Bob's number? Cheers Tom Quite the opposite Tom! It's a work of art - all down to Bob. I'll text it to you now.
  2. Tom, Give Bob F a ring. He's a bit of a whizz with these things, and it sounds like Quest is wired similar to JV. I'm sure he will sort it out before Alderney for a beer or two.
  3. Terry, Just book us all in - we all eat together anyway. Adam
  4. Sorry!! You'll enjoy Church much more
  5. Proper names please! 1) Martin B 2) Dean B 3) Mark (Zippy)
  6. Dont forget this Sunday is the bream comp. Book in here or give me a ring! 1.)
  7. 1.) JV - Adam, Alun and Rob Francis 2.) Quest II - Tom, Chris and Pete 3.) Abode keen May need crew ? 4.) Wight Magic - Dave , Dean and Gordon 5.] Alfresco Charlie, Dan, Will plus Stuart [if he can get time off] Updated - now have full crew.
  8. Has anyone got a twin axle trailer I could borrow for a morning? JV needs a gelcoat repair under the waterline and I'd like to avoid the marina cost for a lift out! Cheers Adam
  9. Lovely Ray Nige. We had a dozen dolphins around the boat on Sat... amazing animals.
  10. Sorry Ive been a bit busy over the past few months and havent been at the meetings. Just had a quick look, it looks like: March - Dave Evans for his Plaice April - Joint price - Graham Gear and Trev Wyatt for their Bream
  11. Nice one!
  12. Most welders used to TIG should be able to do so. Pete did most of JV's onsite and I know it's pretty common on the bigger boats he works on where removel isnt an option. The welding would be the easier bit - polishing and picking the rails after welding might be a bit trickier, but not impossible.
  13. Well! What a filppin waste of time that was trying to plan the early May trip?!! So!! Lets look at the 20th May as Plan B (or is that now Plan Z!) Plan will be as before, leave Thurs, back Sunday. Who's in then! 1.) JV - Adam and Alun, space for 1 more
  14. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.................................. ..................AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! THATS IT! I GIVE UP.....
  15. Current update is that JV, Yelo and Mrs Sea are still planning a trip next week. I'm looking at a 3 day trip leaving Poole early on Monday morning and heading straight over to Alderney for 2 days on the banks and then wrecking on the way home Weds. The forecast is good, and I think a few flatties are showing. I'll make a call Friday lunchtime. Duncan - are you still planning or are you out?
  16. JV is still planning on getting over next week. Monday to Weds is looking nice, with light winds. At the moment it's a 3 day trip Monday to Weds, but if Thurs looks up then we will stay another day. I'd really like another buddy boat who has done the trip before. I think Ive got Mrs Sea from Eastborne, but it would be good to get another club boat? Anyone tempted?
  17. Been there myself John - very similar circumstance too! Found a lovely little Featon 630 in Devon, offer accepted, transport arranged, went down to pay the man.... and he sold it to a cash buyer... I was furious too - but in hindsight, everything happens for a reason and I wouldnt now have JV if I'd have gone down that route.
  18. I see this thread is busy again this morning! It's just too windy to think about Thurs - Sun in my opinion. Windguru is still showing 20knts plus for periods over these days. I'll speak with my crew in a bit, but JV may look at Sun-Weds or even Mon-Thurs if we can get a buddy boat.
  19. It's like wrestling a bar of soap! The forecast still isnt convincing me. Even my later plan to leave Sat or Sun doesnt seem that feasible. Following Charlie and Dave and going for it seems doable - but only just and I'm not sure I want to get bashed around and take a risk with it. In my heart I think Tom B's probably made the right call... but ever the optimist, I'll go with Oli and make a final call tomorow - lunch time I expect.
  20. Keep your knickers on! I take it that after that little outburst you aren't coming down for a natter? Nope I'm popping down tomorrow instead. Some positive attitude is needed, so JV is going to get a scrub underneath, and a clean down ready to cross the channel this weekend!
  21. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH
  22. Yep! All change again!!.... What fun... It does look as though the dominant NNE looks to end on Sun /Mon and gentle SE take over. I think we will be watching this all week, and basicaly leave when we can. If this stands then it will be a leave Sun return Weds.
  23. As changable as it is, looking at Windguru for the CI's this morning I'd favour running over Sat morning, returning Tues. Sun is looking the windiest day, but later on so would still allow fishing during the day. Both Windguru and Windfinder agree on this at the moment with the wind going SE on Mon eve Tues giving us a push home... I'm 80% confident of going between Thurs and Weds, it's just when to leave, for how long and when to return... (to state the bleeding obvious!!)
  24. Looking at it this morning - anyone thinking of going tomorrow and returning Sat?
  25. It's not a Bad forecast... it's just the 20mph wind peaks in there I dont like. It certianly isnt a no brainer. What was the outcome of the pub meeting last night?
