Sorry again Tom - if it helps I'm probably just as gutted, was REALLY looking forward to the trip and having you onboard. Hope you find a place, if not as soon as I'm sorted again I'll get you out.

Good call Jim - it's a tricky forecast today for sure - looks like it should be flat on the internet, but clearly isnt! FWIW - when you do get out, I used to use around 75 ltrs in my 165 to do the trip - that was with a 60hp 4 stroke. I think when Gordon has done the trip the 70hp Etec is even better. For safety - I used to take 100 ltrs - which gave around 25 ltrs reserve. I did the trip about 6 times in my 165 and twice in my 175. It's quite manageble in a 16/17' boat, but you do need to pick the weather and have a buddy boat. 2's and 3's are the winds to look for...

    Monday?
  9. Andy - with good service like that name and promote the company who did the work too?
  10. Gas, Yep - it's about 70 miles to the island, but as charlie says day 1 tends to be 100+, day 2 100+ and any day local to the island about 50 odd. For a 3 day trip safe to assume 250 miles max. We did 279 over the 4 days last time.
  11. No problem. Seems this trip will be harder to get off the ground than the one in May.... 1 possible space on JV up for grabs then...
  12. Sorry to hear that Bob - you'll have to get your own back this weekend whilst I'm at a wedding 1.) JV - Adam, Alun & Paul Frey
  13. Right - weather depending as always, I'll be going over for the 48hr comp. Plan A would be to leave early to make the most of the day and steam straight over, fish Sat and then return Sunday. I'll start a list to get an idea of who wants to come. I'll stay onboard again, but others will need to make own arrangements for accom. 1.) Joint Venture - Adam, Bob and Alun J
  14. The 48hr comp is now a possibility for me - family arent coming down now, so weather allowing, I'll be making a 3 day trip to Alderney. Plan to leave early Friday, come back Sunday.
  15. Here you go then! Not had any in for a few days, so this should be the lot. 41 fished - superb turnout, well done boys and girls.... Well done to Dan Chapman with a cracking 4lb fish... special mention to the 2 ladies who figured in the top 10! 16. Just JV then.....?
  17. Simon's right guys! This is a great trip - and we have a huge number of trailer boats in the club that could go up. Previous years have seen less and less boats go. PLEASE support Gordon and the club and get your butts up there!!

Hi Pirky, Welcome to the club. Yes a few boats use Parkstone Bay - including myself - boat - Joint Venture. What boat do you have and what is she called? I'll keep an eye out for you at the marina. Adam
  19. Just because I can...... ....... I thinking about sneaking in another trip to Alderney in the next few months. Probably just a 3 dayer this time, and no wrecking, just straight over for the bass / flats and then straight back. For my diary, I'm looking at early July, either the first or second weekend. Anyone else fancy buddying up? JV will probably have Bob and Alun onboard.... Bob's keen to see the white hedgehogs.....
  20. Great fishing guys. Ive got over 30 results now which is the vast majority. I'll leave it until the end of the week and then post the results up. Adam

  25. Thanks for posting that up Mike - fortunatley it held this time - we came in at 4pm and it was still pretty benign with a gentle F2-3 easterly... but it was building. Foreacast for tomorrow is icky! Cheers anyway.
