How can a kayak sink? I thought they are bouyant and don't sink?!

Anyone been to Portugal fishing? Popping over for a week in Sep and plan to fish for a day or 2 or 3, not planning to do any big stuff like marlin or tuna, but inshore/reef fishing. What can you catch over there? Anyone have any ideas what tackles/bait/technics? Any advice are welcome. Kam

Someone better tell some of the skippers over at Littlehampton, I know of ppl who took sh*t load of small breams home, and the skippers never said a word.

I'm surprised as there is no min size for breams, no wonder skippers let anglers take any bream no matter how small they are.

You have got to try it first, I have caught conger close to 100 lbs and even that pale into insignificant when you hooked into a big common skate, the fight will generally take around an hour, in that hour, you will experience high (when you finally got it off the bottom) and low (when it take line and go back to the bottom and stays there), and high and low, .... I had it up and down 3 times before it stayed off the bottom. The feeling of helplessness when it wants to go and all you can do is hold on to your rod and pray it doesnj't break. It's one of those experience that will stay with you for a long long time.

Well done, we went over with Valkyrie from Hayling Island arriving on the Tues for 2 days and we only managed about 10 fish each but majority of them were under 45cm. We kept about 25 fish betweeen 9 of us. However my mate did catch 1 that was 19 1/2 lb.
