  1. Dan in his Happy Place, deep water and lots of these
  2. Thanks Colin, Happy that I could help you out my friend. Pete is still there, but is trying to wind down a bit. I believe he did this on Alans boat last time but no longer does that sort of thing as he gets more senior in years
  3. Pete would have been my go too, I have never done multiplait so cannot help. Probably why we still use three strand. Lol
  4. Mostly Tow gear Live baits are so hard to get consistently. We will certainly be trying to hear where they are and may go even further West
  5. Thanks Mick I will get him to give you a call, his no is 07713 181609, so you can recognise caller. Charlie
  6. My Son Dan would like it mate. Can i give him your number so he can get in touch about collection.
  7. Have you still got this one Mick?
  8. Good afternoon all After several long but unsuccessful trips last season, Dave and I both applied once again for 2025 BFT licences. Hoping to use the knowledge from last year, and all of the kit to have another go at these mighty fish. Two weeks ago I received a message from the MMO, saying there was an error in my application and I would loose the priority that I gained from holding a licence in 2024. Thankfully a few frantic emails and phone calls later, the mix up was sorted out. I received an email this morning, with good news. Success I have another licence for the 2025 season starting 1st August. Sadly when I called Dave, his email was not so good, due to considerable No of applications, he had been unsuccessful again. Later this morning another email from the MMO, correcting the season start date back to the 18th July. as it was said to be when we applied. What an organisation they are, having worked with them for many years while managing a Marina, I should not really be surprised. Many Members followed our exploits with interest last year so hopefully we can continue to interest you once again. Wish us luck. In case you have forgotten, this may show why we got so excited just seeing them off of Portland last year Tuna Bust, best one long version.mp4
  9. Is that propane or butane Mick?
  10. Well done Mal Amazing how some fishing can help get your mojo back. Thanks for the report.
  11. Thanks for report Steve Glad that you had a safe trip and everyone caught some fish, to take home. Biggest cod of year so far
  12. great white

Thanks Oli What are their current quoted prices for Propulsion and Heating Diesel? Inc the various taxes.
  13. Well the weather scuppered another try for most of us. Dave and Adam took the decision mid week, that the wind and wave forecasts were a bit too high and unsettled. Steve's boat rides the waves better so he decided to go. What to do?? Go fishing of course. Sat was the best day so Dave organised a good crew to meet up at 7. Dave Chris Kev and I were all keen to get out and set off early to see what the sea state was like. " Its fine" says captain Dave so we settle in for 20 miles to the first shipwreck. Thankfully the weather was not as hot as the past few days. Then we started a pattern of several drifts, a few nice fish, then move on. With a target of drifting a big wreck at slack with bait. We shared several pollack to 14.5 lb. 4 bass and even a small cod for Kevin to take home to Bath. All to soon it was 5pm and time to head home. It had been a great day, with three good mates. What a crack, lots of fun banter and some fishes to clean and share Thanks Dave, Chris and Kev I really enjoyed the whole day.
  14. Thanks Jerry IMHO The bream comp should continue, it was well supported in the breezy conditions and more/larger giltheads make the harbour a good option for all of us, regardless of size of boat.
  15. To true about the commercials Jerry It is good to see that there are far more decent ones about now, it gives the Bream Comp a lot more scope as it is worth targeting them in the harbour on a windy day.
  16. They gave us a good stare or two today, but all they got back was a wave. Lol
  17. Dan joined me today for a Fathers day afloat. We had a nice time in the harbour chasing some gilts, in the stiff breeze. A swinging boatvin the shallows makes it a bit tough. I managed one of the target species, weighed at 1lb 1oz Then a keeper bass had us hoping for a better gilt. A more subtle bite bought me a slimey silver eel. First one i have had for years, weighed at 1lb 2oz We moved to another area and I had a terrific run, was this the big one. Nope a energetic smoothy of about 7lb, boy do they run about in shallow water. By half three we had enough of swinging about and headed in. PB gilt for me i 🤔, but not the one that got away.
  18. Only Sunday for me. hi the weather settles down, or my crew may revolt Wendy has decided to pass , so I will fish with Dan on Father's day
  19. Very up for helping with that, if we can make the date.
  20. Hopefully the powers that be would eventually see the value, that including MCZ areas in this ban would bring.
  21. Need to turn the winds down a bit Steve
  22. Lots of talk at the time [and since] about how easy it is to catch big congers, but your record still stands Tom Believe me we have tried a few times since. Conger bashing, does not have the following it once had. Having Bluefin Tuna in the UK, may have diverted the attention of those that want bigger fish. ATB Charlie
