Well done Dave, Great fish mate, and just reward for two years of hard work, trying to get one. Not sure why you had to do it on a day when I was not available.
-
I have shared that experience recently too Chris. one day none stop catching, next time no fish for hours
-
Must have felt a bit cold for you Mal, after your time abroad. But nice to be back at sea again.

I believe that the newer Lowrance units are very good. Or you could give Karl Betteridge of Better Connected a call for advice, his no is 07729 399433 If he does not answer, send him a message.

Good to see you back on two feet with no boot or crutches Chris. And well done on a lovely Bass.

Ben and I met at the boat at 0730 setting off out as the Sun sneaked through under the clouds, it was cold but not as bad as recent weather. The sea state was lovely We picked a spot and anchored up for the last of the flooding tide. Whiting were plentiful but a little smaller than recent trips. and bigger baits were attracting a lot of congers. Ben cooked us up some great sausage baps washed down with hot coffee, then we had a short move. At last a better fish was hooked up and giving a good account of itself in the now quite strong ebb tide. 20250112_130447.mp4 Ben who had been knackered all day struggled a bit with this one. But it was worth it for a very nice 16lb 8 Blonde. As the tide eased a few dogfish and a lot more whiting and congers joined the fun. 1530 I took pity on Ben who was suffering from no sleep on Saturday night, we pulled the anchor to run in and clean down in daylight. Not a bad trip for early in the year, we only took 8 keepers.

Well done Bobbi as Jim says the once famous Poole Harbour Flounder are no longer there in any numbers. I think the cormorants are probably as much to blame as any fisherman
-
Sorry Jerry, I thought that you had checked this, so I did not prior to yesterday. here is the link Bass Fishing Guidance 2025 - GOV.UK

Well done Jerry. Glad most of the plan worked. Boy those Bass boys get grumpy out there. You got bigger whiting than us today as well

Planning to go on Sunday with Ben. Tight lines all

Is anyone going out this weekend?
-
Wow is it that time of year again already. Having just picked up a tidebook, Dave and I are looking at when the tides look good. During May the weekends are not brilliant. One mid month has potential and an early one in June could be a good reserve date. Is anyone else keen to take their boats this year? I am hoping to have Will and Gordon as crew again. Planning to fish the banks and wrecks. Charlie

They look fantastic Jim. Nice work mate.

I believe that using seals as bait is not allowed. Even in areas with Great Whites and abundant seals. But I may be wrong.

Do not stand too close to the heater Dave, and enjoy the banquet. Oh yes and tight lines.

Unfortunately I am away this weekend so apologies from me this time.

Hi Mick are you signed in ? I initially had a couple of issue, which mainly stemmed from my auto log in needing refreshing. The other on e from me doing a few things while the system was still in "Change Over" I cannot replicate your small font, on any of my usual ways to use the site.

Hi all Ben Allen sold his boat and is now advertising the Navionics card he bought just before he decided to sell up. Its the Navionics platinum plus with relief shading south of England. These cost quite a lot more than the £175.00 he is asking for it on Facebook Market place. If anyone is interested please PM me and I will forward to Ben
