  1. Thanks Neal I hope most can fish it on the new dates. It remains my favorite comp of the year Charlie
  2. Wow that sounds like an ambitious plan Graham Good luck with the weather and the fishing Charlie
  3. Well done Nige 11 species in a short session a good ray on bream gear as well, what a guy. But I suppose its time to give up eating all the pies on your own mate at least until you can beef up the suspension in that chair
  4. That would be a shame, and a first if my memory is right. But looking at the forecast it would also be very sensible. Charlie
  5. Please register your intention to fish the comp by adding your name below 1) Neal Sturt 2] Charlie Chapman [weather permitting]
  6. Like Adam I have only had limited success on the closer wrecks when drifting, but good sport at anchor. However I expect that they would fish better if you had a day when the water clarity is good. In my experiance that is what makes the differance when you go out the extra miles. If you would like more info PM me charlie
  7. Any More apologies? So far I have: Steve Loftus [Lofty] Dan Chapman Sam Chapman
  8. Is that all Rob I had a look yesterday, one of those wrecks we fished on the way back was 75 miles from Poole May be a while before we go there again but it explains where all teh fuel went. Have a great trip Adam and anyone else that can crew or buddy up. Charlie
  9. Nice fish James Its a shame they do not fight until they get into the boat. But they put a fair bend in a rod. Well done Charlie
  10. Can I take first refusal on that Nigel I would like to see how it fits on the boat first, so if you could bring it to the meeting that would be great. Charlie
  11. Well done on getting some fishing done today and getting a few species. Sorry to hear about the hook stuie, but it sounds like the skipper dealt with that in his stride too. Well done Neal Charlie
  12. Nice one Chris No doubt your crew has regretted his late cancellation since hearing of your success Charlie
  13. What is the proposed format? I need to see if I can get time off covered as my assistant is on honeymoon. Any more than the weekend [Competition hours] could be a problem. Charlie
  14. Well done graham sounds like a great trip I would put your two lost fish as a bigger tope and a Conger/Ray. Tope tend to do the clean bite offs and the other two tend to chew them up. No doubt you will be out there again soon, when you remember where you were
  15. Best bet would be on a small tide on the way to or from your holiday trips or have a nice sail out to the rips, then go fishing for a few hours, then a nice sail home. A long day but covers both of your boats capabilities. If its hard hitting the wrecks on the drift, there are some steep banks out there that also hold such fish. Charlie
  16. Well done Andrew Did you try the brittle stars like your original plan? or just stick to the wrecks. Charlie
  17. Glad that I managed to upset the pattern. Well done Alun and James Not lucky, its down to time and effort Charlie
  18. I will be at wok , perhaps I should "borrow a boat" and pop over May give you a bell Have a nice day, look forward to the pictures Charlie
  19. See new thread mate
  20. Hi Kam Please get in touch to arrange collection Rob The rod is safe at my house I will bring it next week to the meeting. Charlie
  21. Hi Andrew Certainly a well known area to many of us It should be holding fish by now and is close enough to the Brittle stars to give both a go. some of the steepest pinicles fish well on the drift for Cod and Pollack The wrecks are worth a go at anchor over slack for some good eels. and a few tope get around the area. Its a fair way out so I usually go there all day to make the most of drifting and anchoring, but should be good on that forecast. Slack water at about 0900. and 1500 ish Sounds a great prospect wish I could join you. Tight lines Charlie
  22. No crew at all at the moment So may have to chase that up, or I suppose I could possibly crew for someone else if they are short. Not sure if I should save the browny points for the possible Cherbourg trip later in the summer. Charlie
  23. Add report later Just to let Kam and Martin know there rods are now in my car
  24. Tight lines Mark Now that you have been to Reading to see the trophy, you are off fishing. I hope that you enjoy it after being spoilt with Snappers and Kingfish Charlie
  25. Who had any sleep Was it the heat? I don't think so. Thanks for all the good wishes guys, shame all of the original boats and crews could not make it. Charlie
