Terry I will see Dan at about 10 tonight and sort that out, in case the forecast changes. Hi Mark I have been coming to the Island for 25 years, and the general attitude seems not to have changed much. We used to stay in the moorings weekly, while they were happy for us to occupy the bar and spend money, early breakfasts were frowned upon. It is a great shame that more of the others do not have your attitude mate, I know that you have worked endless hours trying to get your message accross. If they just realised the potential earnings from Charter boats and groups like ours, the Island as a whole would benifit. Having pubs that will not feed you after 8pm , Mooring buoys on the jetty instead of in the water, tender pontoon not ready are all things that must go towards a tendancy for some boats to bypass Alderney and head on towards the other Islands or France. Not us Mark, we love Alderney and all that it has to offer us. I just wish it was a little nearer so that we could come in shorter weather windows. Still hoping to see you later this week Charlie

It would be a great help to know Neal and has anyone heard anything about Andy's comp? Charlie
-
Its not what you see on the internet Graham Its what you get under the hull and across the deck mate This morning the internet sites look reasonable, yet on the TV they predict a wet and windy Sunday. Charlie
-
If you, like Duncan, are willing to work it out for yourselves have a look here http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/avnpanel1.html I have not been using this long, but it was accurate last week when the weather broke up and stopped us going to Alderney. the multiple pages give you 9 days, but click on one and you get a bigger image. This was passed to me by Mike Fox , so it would be rude to take credit for it Charlie

I spoke to Andy in his shop earlier as our comp coincides with theirs. My crew are keen to fish both. All of his info is apparently on his website, but he is also a bit concerned about the weather. I will try and add a link or more info later [if Martin does not beat me to it] Charlie

Thanks for all you hard work Terry, it is appreciated. The dig was at some of the Islanders attitude, not you. I will ask Dan when I see him [Not much now that he has a more serious girlfriend] and the rest of my crew I am very happy to go with the flow, just want to get there this time I am sure that I am not the only one starting to look at the weather again. Good luck in greece Kev, will it be Euro or Drachma Charlie

Any idea of prices Terry? Amazing place Alderney, you sometimes get a feeling that they would be much happier without visitors. I have been there dozens of times working, and used to stay in the moorings most of the time, even as regular B and B customers we could never get an early breakfast at 7.30. Or one more beer at closing time. Charlie

Great news Martin Sorry for all that can not make it on the second try. We never get as many if we cancell the first date. I am sure you are all keeping your fingers crossed for us, that we get good weather. there is always the 48hr weekend in June Charlie
-
Well done Toby Take them to the fish for just a few hours when they are young and they are hooked for life. Make them go all day in poor weather and they would soon return to the electronic game consoles. Charlie
-
Absoutly gutted for you Paul Its a shame that these bastards think its OK to help themselves to other peoples hard earned property, and the police do little about it. I know you have a second boat, but that is not the point. Good luck with the Insurance claim.
-
thanks Ian Very usefull to have the latest update on how the fishing is going well done on the flatfish, and on returning the future stocks [i bet the longliners do not] Have a nice sail Charlie

Sorry to hear about Manta Ray earlier on the phone Alan, You sounded better about it than I would have been. I hope that our chat was useful, the boat crosses the channel OK and all repairs are simple and swift best regards Charlie

Suits us either way, Fri to Mon or Sat to Tue Tides not at all bad Fri to mon, but even smaller Tue for the return I was waiting for the general consensus and accomadation info before booking days off, If everyone who can come can add themselves to the list we could start to plan again Charlie
-
Hi All The dates mentioned were after a quick check on the tides, if they need to be changed slightly to make it better for others please comment on the other Thread. I believe Terry has been talking to the accomadation to see what they have available. Charlie
-
We are looking at a wrecking trip Sunday, hopefully with Dave and his crew for company Maybe straight out from Poole to get the breeze in our favour for the return leg. Good luck down west, we look forward to hearing how it goes. Charlie
-
Hi Sam Give me a call about this weekend Dad
-
Not old Matt " Wise" Can you honestly say, that you fancied that return journey again
-
Well I think thet the weather has made up our minds to abort this weekends trip. when I looked them up earlier, I had hoped that the next set of good tides would not be required. But all of the crossed fingers did not work. Can I suggest Sat 26th to Tue 29th as a starting point for a rescheduled trip 1. Alfresco..............Charlie , Dan +2TBC I hope plenty can change plans to come. Charlie
-
Bloody Weather Try as I might I could not forget last years trip enough to talk myself into going in the same or worse weather. Dave and I have discussed all sorts of options but the best seems to be to postpone this weekends trip. I feel sorry for all concerned, but do not fancy coming back in that weather again. Sorry Terry for all your hard work mate, please cancell the diner booking and Accomadation Can I suggest we postpone to simular tides 26th to 29th May. Unfortunately that may not be available to all but I hope plenty can make it. Terry when you call about the accomadtion could you ask about these dates mate. Charlie [bloody gutted] I may have at least one space possibly two on the next dates, please get in touch if you would like to come with Dan and I . Dave and I may now do a wrecking trip on Sunday, I have one space if anyone fancys it, please let me know. Bloody Weather
