great white

I think that anchor would be OK in shallower waters with chain and plenty of warp out. But if going out deeper I would go up to a 7.5kg. Nice fishing platform, 23ft Open boat has a lot of space. I hope you have a much fun as I did on my Wilson Flyer 17 Charlie

Good luck with the sale Jim, sorry to hear that she is being sold. You will be more than welcome with us. I have a mate who is thinking of buying a warrior and is considering a new one, as he could not find the spec he wanted second hand Pm me or email me the specs and I will give him a call, it could help you both out Charlie

Well done mate Glad the seatrial went well. She looked a very solid boat when we climbed all over her last week The hull is as dry as a bone and all work seems to be cosmetic. I hope that she gives you as much fun and success as Wishin did Have you come up with a cunning name yet? Charlie

recieved this afternoon from Mainbrayce Hi Charlie Sorry we didn't get to the phone earlier but as you say it can pretty hectic at this time of year! We are looking forward to seeing you all again and can offer you similar deals as to previous years. Our current diesel price is 98p per litre but I can offer the club 10p a litre off that so at current prices that would be 88p. As for the taxi I can again offer this service at a rate of

That boat looks like it can handle a bit more than a F4 mate Looks like a trip on Sunday is off too Charlie

Thanks for the reminder Guys [ I have been distracted by the Dinner Dance] I have called them today and they will offer us the same discounts on Fuel and Taxi Penny is going to give me the costs later, I will post them when I know. If anything it should be about the same as last year for fuel 85p to 90p per ltr Good news for those of us that charge about a bit and use some juice, and it compares well with the 60/40 price we are currently using in the UK Lets hope the weather improves Charlie

I agree with Rob mate Hang on to it untill you know it is not right for the boat after trials. If it was me I would keep it anyway for an emergancy spare, you could have it tweaked a bit if the wrong pitch. Charlie

Not the same one as me Trevor

He was a lucky man to survive that. No excuse on the boat. International rules of the road clearly state that you must keep a good lookout at all times. Ref your question, I do not have a proper one , I have found them not to be very good at 20 knots I just use Dan or Sam when they are available. Charlie

Shh I am supposed to be decorating May have to go AWOL, now where did I put my breaming gear??

Good news ref the engine Rob I had a 2 stroke Yamaha and it ran sweet for years. I was cooing over Manta Ray on friday night [she is a cracker] then on Saturday morning Alfresco's trim tilt motor started to stick. Dave on White Magic put it down to saying how nice Alan's boat is. What a superstitious lot we are Charlie

Well done mate Good luck with the engine fit and Sea Trials You will get huge satisfaction from all of your hard work. especially if the first fishing trip coincides with good weather and plenty of fish Charlie

Thanks for the early call Neal Will look to a longer day tomorrow now if weather allows Charlie

With Dan urgently wanting to break in a new reel and get his first double figure pollack we are currently looking at a trip out on Sat because of teh weather . If anyone wants to take the fourth space, please get in touch, it will probably be at least 10 hrs and a few miles. 07887 794716 Charlie

Hi All Here is the Board as it was originaly fitted to JV, before the latest mod last week with the super frame and cooler In the spirit of Ians wishes, we will start the Auction on here Then maybe close the bidding at the meeting, if the boards are there to be viewed. I hope that you all get behind this idea Bids so far are;..................... Niggle

Adam I think that I will give metcheck a miss It changes from one extreme to the other and back again within hours Charlie

Nice one Martin and a nice Bream too wish I knew how to get a Club record fish on there Charlie

So did I [Wish I knew Rob was, I bet his was quicker] Charlie

Sounds good to me. Monies will be put to good use, probably aimed at something for Junior Anglers As Ian says, Place bids Guys/Girls and the highest two will receive the boards in exchange for monies at the May meeting. In time to fit them prior to Alderney or Summer fishing trips. The design seems spot on to me, with the well at the back holding worm baits, catching blood from cut baits or taking enough sea water to defrost frozen bait. Charlie

You are right Adam I expect it is our supertitious nature, that makes us believe too much advance planning will only upset the weather gods I expect that there is a fair bit going on "Behind the scenes" Only a month away from making a weather decision now Charlie

What a great catch and release fish Shame about the pictures , have we any photo shop experts that can clean the middle one up? It would be well worth the effort. email the original to me Chris [[email protected]] I am far from expert, but my brother may be able to help. IMHO your efforts to return the fish deserve a nice picture to send to the mags and remember her by. I am sure it would be possible to cut and paste the water and sky to remove the finger blur. It would be a great picture to send to BASS, the Club is affiliated. They love our catch and return results and your fish would definately interest them Charlie

Nice one Ian I will be very happy to help. Come on guys thes really do look the dogs watsits, Bids please Charlie

Sorry Graham But most boats have a fendering strip bolted to that flat surface to protect the boat and others when they come together or rest on another structure. Alfresco and Great White both use extruded D section through bolted to the hull/deck joint. Look on wilks website, but cheaper bought at jumbles, there is usually a guy there selling it. You would not need the size we use so that will save money. A fair bit of work to fit it, definately not a one man job, but a nice finishing touch. Charlie

Nearly there Graham , well done. What fendering are you thinking of using? I have just put a link on another thread, they supply all sorts, but you can get cheaper at jumbles http://www.wilks.co.uk/Marine/BoatFendering Charlie
