  1. Would love to get out but work is crazy and my boss is away Tight lines guys Charlie
  2. Happy Birthday Dean I am sure you will be enjoying a few beers Charlie
  3. If its the pvc type I have found scrubbing them or use of wet and dry to be good and then I wipe with a rag soaked in acetone It melts the top layer slightly and smooths out small scratches. Charlie
  4. Happy Birthday Dan I hope the trip on the back of Sam's motor bike helped your hangover Enjoy the rest of your day Dad
  5. Thanks Terry Alfresco's crew will also go with the flow. If the weather and fishing are good we may not arrive early in Braye on day 1, so like the idea of a flexible plan [and no hill LOL] The other two we will go with the majority. Charlie.
  6. Rob that article reads as if they are not at all protected, just that they can not be targetted. Such a shame as they are great looking fish. Have a limited distribution and are endangered. I think the Club is very right to ban them from our Open. If we lead the way others may follow. Regardless of size we will not kill any on Alfresco.
  7. Have a Good one Mark Happy Birthday
  8. Decided to opt out because of the tides, rugby and Dan's birthday on Sunday This afternoon there was an awful ot of mud in sight around the harbour , so be careful Charlie

    HI ALL !!!!

Welcome back Ben Good to hear from you mate, look forward to fishing with you again soon. Charlie
  10. Nice one Graham All systems go on the new one now then Charlie
  11. She looks a beast Al or should I say a thoroughbred with all that horsepower. How did she go on the Sea Trials and when do we get to see her in the flesh? Love the pictures of the toys and Annies area. I too hope that you have as much fun and good fishing on her as me Wendy and the Boys have had together and with friends on Alfresco. She is a credit to you and will fit in fine with the Club, apart for when she is working. Very tight lines mate Charlie
  12. Thanks Neal No picture of me with the voucher But I have a few of me with the fish LOL
  13. Rob Thanks mate but should those lat longs not be in North and West?? It may be a typo, or an error in a fairly complex conversion. I believe that UTC number them differantly, but we are North of the equator and West of Greenwich.
  14. It is a hard one as the area we fish in still gives us a good chance of catching decent fish. Our whiting are as big as those codling and we only take a few of what we catch. However that was not the case where I grew up in Weston Super Mare, but even back then [OK way back then LOL] we would not have retained all of those. If all boats from that area are retaining hauls of small fish like that they can hardly moan that their sport is so poor. I am sure that if we all killed everything that we landed, ours would be too. It is not all down to rules and minimum fish sizes, it is down to personal choice and being willing to practice what you preach. We eat fish but still practice catch and release for a huge proportion of our catch. I would rather see pictures of single big fish than one like that any day. Charlie
  15. One for the brains of the outfit Look here http://www.uwgb.edu/dutchs/usefuldata/utmformulas.htm Charlie I think I will stick to fishing
  16. Thanks Rob Has anyone any idea how to convert these to Lat Long that we use?? Easting [uTM30n_WGS84] ............. Northing [uTM30n_WGS84] 588,133 ................... .......................... 5,604,908 593,533 ............................................. 5,600,589 594,402 ............................................. 5,585,583 582,529 ............................................. 5,583,019 580,881 ............................................. 5,593,874 581,631 ............................................. 5,594,138 585,961 ............................................. 5,598,707 I have looked for and found a spreadsheet converter but its all a bit confusing.
  17. She looked great on your phone mate Even better in these pictures I can not wait to see her for real on the water. You have done a great job project Managing her build , I hope that she is all you wished for. Charlie
  18. That would not have happened under the previous owner/editor Norman would not print a picture of Sam [aged 11]with three good rays, even though two were put back alive. Because he believed it was not the right image to portray Charlie
  19. Charlie If you are contacting them can you ask them for the lat longs of the extreme points of their proposed site. I would love to overlay it on my PC chart as a route to see how many Marks it covers Cheers
  20. Being sat there on a lovely summer day, dealing with a load of plonkers while all your mates are fishing, may not be brilliant Jim. Charlie
  21. Are we not allowed to send them swimming with sharks???
  22. You know how impressed I am with the way you have taken this Nigel I am so sad to hear that the loss of the plotter has another downside. We all know how you loved your dad and how much you miss him. keep your chin up mate, lets hope the new evidence helps the police catch the little sods. Charlie
  23. Good luck with the sale and of course the new door mate Charlie
  24. Thanks Duncan Excellent report and fishing from just outside of our patch. Sometimes it is hard to keep going when you are emptying the tackle box and your mates smile keeps growing. Very well done for using your skills to see the benifit and potential for a single fresh mackeral. Well rewarded by two PB's, two very nice fish Charlie
