  1. I am impressed on how well you are taking this mate. Looking forward to seeing what kit you arrive with on Sunday , your B choice is probably still very good. I am sure if you ask for PM's you will get some of your mark's back. As we fished very close to you only a few days after you had the 30lb cod, I can let you have that one back if I entered it on my plotter Charlie
  2. The boat should be sent out, scuttled and added to the list of wrecks that fine is a joke Charlie
  3. After our chat this morning Nigel you know my thoughts on this I hope the twats get caught and the book thrown at them. Good job you have a bit of spare kit at home so that you can still join me on Sunday. Charlie
  4. Is anyone going out this weekend The tides are big so probably would not go far or in deep water. But I may have spaces, you know the drill get in touch Charlie
  5. Well done for getting out That wind sure had a bite to it today Charlie
  6. You have to wonder why they have red and flashing red , when both mean that you can not go through. and surely if it is green with the [Fairly obvious] bridge down you would proceed with caution. You have to wonder how long it took PHC to come up with this rubbish
  7. Just received at work Notice to Mariners No. 10/2012 6th February 2012 POOLE HARBOUR HARBOUR TRAFFIC SIGNALS POOLE BRIDGES BYELAW SECTION 83, HARBOURS, DOCKS, AND PIERS CLAUSES ACT 1847 Mariners are advised of the significance of the traffic signals in operation at both bridges: A red signal conveys the prohibition that vessels must not proceed beyond the signal. A flashing red signal indicates a serious emergency and conveys the prohibition that vessels must not proceed beyond the signal. A green signal indicates that vessels may proceed beyond the signal. A red with yellow signal indicates that vessels may proceed with caution beyond the signal. In the definitions above,
  8. Blimey Paul I thought you had just re engined that one mate. Nice to hear from you If you can not make the Alderney trip we are also looking at one later in the summer to Cherbourg Charlie
  9. Perhaps not only the AT can help with this info, but also the Southern Sea fisheries officer. Charlie
  10. Its a very good thread Trevor Not only effecting Christchurch but also boats at the top end of Poole harbour as they move up through brackish water and may not have pure salt water in their systems. I would also add that boats on external dry stacks are colder than ones that are sat in Sea water as the air is much colder than the sea. That said both harbours were frozen yesterday. Charlie
  11. Air pressure seem to affect the tide hights as does the direction of the wind. The level appears low in your picture but out fishing yesterday the run of the tide was very steady, we were not in deep water [just over 20mtrs] and only used 8 ounces of lead all day. Charlie
  12. That is great Neal Well done all the winners, no chapmans this year. Thanks Any chance of seeing the best fish caught per species and what % of specimen they were? You probably have that in hand Charlie
  13. I agree Nice idea Neal But I would rather see a picture of the angler with the fish, than a voucher
  14. Graham the alarm is simple If you are fitting an auto bilge pump operated by a float, put in additional wiring so that when the float lifts it also powers up an alarm or light [or both] Easy way to do that is from the switch for the bilge pump, as it is closer to where you want the alarm. Charlie
  15. What a fish I think that boat reported a couple of big fish recently and I seem to recall pictures that look like the same angler holding one of those. Get out there Greg and get yours
  16. Nice report James well worth a trip I hope that you are adding these species to your list, "Out of Club Waters" has its own catagory, and you sure seem to get a few. Charlie
  17. Lovely fish PJ and a great picture What size? Charlie
  18. Welcome back Pete Up to about a week ago the answer would have been straight out or east. Most areas had a few cod and plenty of whiting, but I hear that they have thinned out a bit. We will be listening on channel 6 Tight lines Charlie
  19. Welcome back Martyn Have a good trip tomorrow , we will bw out and listening on 6 Tight lines Charlie
  20. Interesting video Great to hear him talk of the watercraft required to catch them constantly. It is still the case and why Alun catches more than we do. When I watched it, the other you tube ones shown at the side included one about tope fishing in Alderney on Shogun, so I watched that too. Bless me if there wasn't a chap with a Just Perfick cap on. Fame at last Tomo??
  21. I am sure that loads of Member needed to know where to get Viagra Paul
  22. I also hope that both of your dogs make a full recovery Graham. I know how much you love them. As to the lazy twat who could not be bothered to take his rubbish home, I hope that he gets a hook in a region that hurts a lot, and it goes very septic. Charlie
  23. Now fully crewed and getting keen , but look at the changes to the damn forecast. we will have to wait and see
  24. Keeping one eye on the weather for the weekend. I have no crew at the moment but fancy a day out on the best of the weather whichever day. Sam may be back again but that depends on his ship trials. Anyone fancy joining me? Charlie
  25. Talking of seats Matt. I must try to remember to oil mine prior to the trip. Or its squeeking may keep the poor crew awake while I drive for 5 hours like last year. [Not going if weather as last year]
