Hi Trevor I have the vetus pantograph ones in 12 volt with the stainless arms very happy with them so far, easy to look up on vetus website, but get them from Vitesse in Fareham Not cheap but much better value than the wynn ones fitted to the yacht clubs workboat. Charlie

Monday sounds good starting to get the buzz now, trying to fill in some new places to try this year. But first prioirty is Dan being able to sort college out to miss Thursday. Boat is currently ashore, but could be ready in a day, so will be afloat. BRING IT ON Charlie

Looking good Trev hell of a smart cover over her. Alfresco is ashore for annual maintenance as you can tell by todays great fishing weather. but hey its also good boat work weather. I hope a few got out and found where the fish are hiding Good luck with the maintenance Duncan Charlie

Dave The navy used to have ribs with flooding hulls for stability just remember to pull away with enough power to lift the nose and empty the hull, before pushing for planning speed, it will save fuel while you get rid of the salt water ballast. You will feel her pick up when the water has gone. Charlie

I too used to have a wilson flyer with a 60ho 2 stroke. on long runs I carried three tanks and only went as far as i could on one. keeping two for the return journey. As Trev says if you can not maintain planning speed the fuel used about doubles. I would start of allowing about 1 ltr a mile, until you have had a few trips and get a more accurate measure. One other thing I made a habit of doing was changing to a full tank. as I returned, outside the harbour entrance. this was to ensure I did not run dry in the busy traffic area. Charlie

Hi guys I have an upright fridge freezer available free, to anyone who wants it and can collect from broadstone. I do not use the fridge often but I know it works. the freezer is good. Its an old one kept in the garage and is perfect for that use. Charlie

Well done Guys Great to read the recognition for your feats and the Clubs efforts. PJ well done mate a truely well deserved award. The newer Members may not be aware of how much effort you have put in over the years and behind the scenes to form the existing bond between the BASS and PBSBAC. Likewise Paul D A great thing to catch your first double figure bass, and even better to let it swim off, giving it a chance to breed again. and of course Peter Who regularly reminds us, that it takes an effort on all of our parts to try and sustain the sport we all love. His dedication to the conservation cause gives us hope. It has made me think over the years of ways to do my bit to ensure sports for younger anglers like Sam and Dan. Nice one guys

I can not comment on the broadband radar, but would say that having a set onboard is a real asset when the weather closes in and you start to hear the fog horns going. If mine ever went U/S, it would be replaced ASAP worst trip so far was when vis went to zero on the starfish grounds, turn on the radar and the alarm and relax [a bit] Charlie

Hi All Welcome Greg It will be great to have you along. Hard luck Colin its a long way off so weather may yet change the dates. We too may have to tweak plans by a day. Due to Dans college Thursday may be hard for us so we may have to go on Friday. If we do Sam may also be able to come, but Navy plans change even more than they used to. Charlie

A few small Giltheads seem to show up in Poole Harbour most years and the very occasional surprise one comes up elsewhere. We do catch some stonking Black Bream each year with one or two members really knowing how to weedle the specimens out. Yep, May is Black Bream time. I really must get stuck in this year as I have been too lazy the last couple. Trouble is Tom, that other species further out get more attention from you than the bream. Maybe we will stay inshore and get the spinning rods out this year, at least on the big tides Giltheads are a bigger species, so lets all hope that they establish and get a chance to grow. I have only caught small ones. Charlie

Well we had a nose about, but there is not much else to report really. As we set off on a fine day, it seemed like a good plan for a mixture of drifting and anchoring. The forcast was OK but with rain and stuff at lunchtime bringing some breeze. We steamed for over and hour to the first wreck, set up the drifts and nothing. The plan was to carry on out, if this one proved hard and the water coloured, but light rain bought a lot of wind, so heading another 8 miles offshore did not seem a good plan. Wind now with tide, I tried to get the anchor in, without luck on several attempts. so we headed in a bit and tried again, by now the tide was ripping so it still refused to set. "Lets look at a couple of sets of numbers and wait a bit" Nice plan , would have been better if I could have found the damn wreck still it killed some time and when we went back at least the anchor held, but fishing was slow. Sure we had a few eels but nothing big and not that many. The weather actually calmed again and the rain missed us so it was not all bad [except the fishing] It was nice to fish with another new Member, but he must wonder if we make our reports up Thanks for coming guys it was still better than working Oh well better luck next time Charlie
