A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack. 'Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday.' Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager. I find the sonar recording very usefull when visiting wrecks/marks for the first time, keep the recordings short and then copy to the pc at home. Slow day on Alfresco We went to the eastern edge of Club waters again but this time South of the Island The day started well with nice weather and mackeral in abundance and then a few fish at anchor. But from there it went downhill we had congers huss bass tope pout etc but the wished for large tope have gone for the moment and the eels were small best fish Gordon Bass 6lb 4 Neal Huss 7lb 14 Dan Undulate 11lb 8 Me Conger too damn small to weigh Well done those that found better fish, It sounds like a few are about we will try harder next time LOL Charlie

Very Interesting We may all moan about the rising cost of fuel and the end of red diesel for liesure users in November will be another blow [ Does anyone know where a mast goes on an offshore??] But maybe just maybe there is a silver lining, I know a couple of beam trawlers I would not be to sad to see the back of. hi Dave what Icom do you have and does it have the two wires out of it at the back with the small jack plug sockets on? One is for the extension speaker and the other for the nmea lead. If it does I may have a spare here, and nearly certain to have one at work somewhere. If you have the socket I will have a better look Charlie

As I said the other night I believe they reccomend a strip of ally or hard plastic inside. You may get away with 7mtr lengths down each side, start at the bow and work aft, then another short piece for the transome. It is tricky enough with 3 mtr lengths of fender, so trying to do a single long length would be hard. Call me if I can talk you through ideas. Cheers Charlie

Dan and I am now on a holiday break from work and hope to go away on the boat with Wendy later in the week, destination will be determined by the weather. However Wendy is at work Mon and Tue so I have a keen son and a fishing pass. Now that tomorrow is off for the comp, we may pop out for lunch and have transfered the crew to Monday, if the weather is as good as forecast we may even get to the RIP's. Dan and I are also keen to go out on Tuesday and will have spaces if anyone is free, looking at the weather we will not be going mid channel but should be able to find somewhere to go. Post, text or call me As I said later in the week could be a family trip to at least weymouth or the solent. If anyone can pm me details of where to fish for a few hours in ether area while we are away, it may help keep Dan quite. Another update They should now just be clear of the tip of Denmark with just over 200nm of fairly open water ahead of them prior to arrival in Stavanger in Southern Norway. Over half way now.

I had another update last night They are at Middlefart in Denmark, awaiting the engines first service at 55 hrs and about 900 miles from Poole, about half way. they have several hours in the baltic to go today and then about the same in open water and the forecast was poor. Tom phoned to say that spirits were high and after a few teething snags all is now going well. I am not sure what route they take north through Norway but it looks a long way on the map, makes the rips look very close Charlie
