  1. Hi Guys Rob looking forward to fishing with you on Sunday, I will call you tomorrow. Gordon I have a seat and mug ready for you tonight, and hope that you can make it, the tides are big so we will probably try for the rays again. Will if you are up for Sunday, we would love to have you [and your cake ] onboard again. can you PM me a contact number. Cheers Charlie
  2. 10/10 for trying Dan Its a shame that the better fish got away, but the odd one that do escape keeps us keen. and at least you know they are about I am sure the weather did not help matters. Better luck next trip Charlie
  3. Hi all Is anyone going out at the weekend? Dan and I are hoping to still get out Friday evening [weather permitting] as he is not able to come at the weekend. Sam is home on weekend leave and has called to say he is very keen to get out. I am working Sat am and out Sat night. So it looks like a trip on Sunday may be possible. Allowing for a later start to clear my head I don't think we will be doing the flounder comp. but we may aim to go into the bay for a few hours[or longer] from about 9. If anyone is interested in joining us PM or post here. Charlie
  4. When are you thinking of going? Charlie

    Worrying

    1. Teaching Maths In 1970 A logger sells a lorry load of timber for
  9. Nice one Martyn always good to read reports that fish are about sometimes those solo days work ouit and sometimes it just seems everything goes against you, but well done for getting three cod on in the first place. In that weather you did better than most to even wet a line. Charlie
  10. Mike although it looks worse than usual its not that bad for two seasons. I would have been more worried about losing the anode. I did comparison tests at work a few years ago, selected the best to put on the workboats and the following year it was not good. Continued changes in the various brands seem to make it a bit of a lottery. A lot of the Yachts at PYC are now using erroding seajet or international micron extra where the faster boats tend to use International interspeed or Trilux. Seajet is cheaper than International so I think I will be trying their new hard type next year on Alfresco. How long are you out for? and how is the hulls moisture content after being afloat for so long? Charlie
  11. Nice one Gordon You just can not resist those eels can you Charlie
  12. Nice one Trevor It sounds like there are a few about and great start for otters winter. As martin says it will be good to get out and have a practise for the 23rd. Tight lines Charlie
  13. Well done Danny and Crew What a great start to the winter to get out and catch fish on a lovely calm day. lets hope we get more calm days during the season, especially on days when I am not working Charlie
  14. OMG I can not even imagine what would happen here if I did that here at PYC. I am sure that you will have something in your berth license that gives MDL permission to move your boat. But dredging is something that needs a lot of organisation and planning so there is plenty of time to inform berth holders. Nothing to do with me, but I would be annoyed if it was me. I hope you get out Pete Tight lines Charlie
  15. I would love to have joined you out there this week, and am confident that you will get a good result. But with commitments prior to the weekend and a nasty cold I had better behave Tight lines guys I look forward to hearing how you get on Charlie
  16. That seems to be the pattern at the moment We were hoping to get away this weekend, by ferry not Alfresco but that is also dependant on some better weather. It looks like we may have to revert to after work fishing trips again to use small weather windows. Charlie
  17. Wellcome Martyn We hope to see you afloat in the future. A good one would be the comp on Nov 23rd as there is a meeting-prizegiving afterwards in the Marina to swap a few tales enjoy the Club Charlie
  18. Some very impressive fish there guys No wonder the B-A-S-S chose this Club as its pilot for their Catch and Release trophy. Up to a couple of seasons ago a 13lb fish had held the Club record for 11 years, It just goes to show that the quality of available fish and the standard of the bass anglers, their tactics and dedication are all reaping rewards. Well done Charlie
  19. Sounds like a great day You and the boys really hit the big fish Congratulations on the fishing and on returning so many big breeding fish, well worthy of another fish of the month. Charlie
  20. OOps I forgot the VAT on the increase see the corrected fees above Charlie
  21. One last reminder. As of tomorrow night Red Diesel used for propulsion of pleasure craft is subject to an increase in revenue of
  22. Patrick Very good advice above. Nothing wrong with the anchor you are using as obviously it gets a good grip. It is best used with the Anka Yanka recovery syatem and always rigged to trip. This recovery method is a very good skill to learn as it is a lot easier to recover the anchor this way than hauling up the chain and anchor by hand. cutting anchor warps is a costly excercise. If all the advice is a bit baffling and you are afloat in Poole during the week bring the boat into PYC Yacht Haven and I will talk you through it all. If you can make it a lunchtime 12.30-13.30, I will jump onboard and demonstrate how its done. Cheers Charlie
  23. Nice one Sam Gordon had better watch out, you will be after your seat back on the boat It will be nice to have you back onboard on the 23rd
  24. Forecast is already worse than it was. Sunday now looking like the best and probably only day Hope it stays good enough to get out Charlie
  25. Apart from the cold weather at the moment, it looks like we may get a weather window at the weekend. We may even get out in daylight again which will be nice. Probably try to pick the better day of the two if I can. Is anyone thinking of going out? and if so to where and targetting what? Keen to know if anyone has heard from their contacts of many whiting or cod about. Charlie
