Hi Craig For smoothies and tope and maybe even plaice it may be worth the trip But if its bass on these big tides, unless you have some hot info I would have to agree with Alan Charlie
  4. Nice one Andy I know we discussed this a couple of weeks ago, and ours had been publicised more than yours Thanks for changing the dates I am sure as usual you will get plenty of support from us at PBSBAC Charlie
  5. Not sure why but my last two replies have not been added to this thread In Brief She arrived Tue night at the Club with some work to do before the long trip. She is a very big boat that has been built to exactly match the type of work they do in Norway. She has a large wheelhouse with seating for all ,excellent windows and full heating, [For the sight seeing] and a 1.5 meter wide access all down the port side of the deck for drift fishing [They never anchor] The boat left Poole at about 10 on Wed night using a gap in the weather. I had a message yesterday at 1300 to say they were 15NM away from Den Helder in Holland Last night I had another that they were 40 miles away from Elbe in Germany, so they are well on route. Just had a message to say they are sat in a lock at the entrance to the Kiel canal 710nm from Poole I had a look on Global Earth last night and searched by Troms Norway, If that position is their destination they have a long way to go north yet. Its a good job the generator, lights and heater were sorted out when it arrived in Poole. Charlie
  6. We hope to be out on Alfresco, if it is on. Timings and area will be determined by Weather. Alun, Gordon, Dan and I Tight lines all Charlie

  9. According to my diary we have another comp this sunday June 29th. I believe it is a best specimen comp, the last of teh BFM comps and one of the series of 5 club comps. Is that correct and if so considering the forecasts when can we expect a decision as to if it will be on/off? and of course who else is fishing? Cheers Charlie
  10. I took rods to NZ a few years back, I do not think it cost extra but I had to arrive early to book them in as oversize. I made up a large tube out of groundpipe, it is a bit heavy plastic but very strong. If you would like to borrow it to protect your rods, please get in touch. Charlie
  11. Adam Mine is a standard type and works at all speeds I opted away from the scoop as it could scoop rubbish in past the grill.which would be hard to get out. I fitted a bronze one and ball valve for strength, as if it ever broke it would flood the engine bay. Volvos and sea water would not mix well Charlie
  12. Hi Adam I will keep an eye on this thread as you have probabl;y noticed how loud mine can be when it cuts in as a deckwsh. Charlie
  13. Well done Guys She is coming on very well and obviously you used the weather yesterday to get the rest of the glass in. It looks like you have achieved a lot since we popped up to see you on Saturday Sorry if we held you back with all the chatting and cups of tea Dont forget the offer to join us again if you need some fresh air and rod time Charlie
  14. Well that is the snack sorted, Whats for dinner? Charlie
  15. at home today and in work this week charlie
  16. Nice to get a fish for your efforts well done Rob Charlie
  17. Hi All, I have just had a text from Tom, asking me to thank everyone who has contacted him or posted about this trip. He is unable to thank you himself as he is in Padstow doing a few tweaks before waiting for the chance to set off for Norway and is offline. Martin B got in quick to take up the offer, lucky blighter. I am sure we are all very keen to wish them a good trip, Tom will try and keep us informed as to their progress. Unfortunatly the weather has already delayed them and the visit to Poole is probably not going to happen Bon Voyage [sorry I do not know any Norwegian] Charlie
  18. I have a worm you can use
  19. Thanks Steve I will PM later when at Home. Charlie
  20. Would have loved to have joined you Tom But have the following two weeks off already so can not get the holiday. What a great experiance, I hope the weather is kind to you. Looking forward to her arrival at Poole and the chance to have a look around. Have a great trip, be safe Charlie
  21. Hi Paul Call me, I can talk you through it. and I have plenty of left over hose etc if you get in before Adam and Bob. Or as it will probably be done here, I can help. No Problem with the sink one The deckwash I would think of fitting a pad inside the hull, glass it in and when cured drill through hull and Pad to fit a skinfitting, to a ball valve and hosetail. Obviously the positioning is vital you need access to do the job and turn off the valve. Charlie
  22. Thanks Steve Neal and I will be trying to make a plan, but as all deep water long range things, it will take planning and luck with the weather coinciding with a decent neap. What sort of fishing time do you expect to get at the end of a neap flood? I like the sound of a few drifts as well as the tope action Charlie
  23. I used Cribbs Tyres and Batteries at Wareham I have their No at work if you need it call me tomorrow 01202 738824 Charlie
  24. I must agree with both of you that some 100% fish are easier than others in theory Conger and tope are to be honest a good example I love fishing for both, I have caught loads of 100% conger and only ever 1 tope of 100% we just like Dan did some homework worked out where our chances were good, made a plan around tide times, got up early and then fished hard. We fish to NFSA guidlines so are stuck with their specimen sizes for our area, I do not necessarily believe that 100% specimens are that "Easy" to get We fished hard on a variety of marks for two days with 4 anglers each day and only had one each day. Tight lines all Charlie
  25. Thanks Neal Is that too accompany Court Jester or all on one boat? Charlie
