it is coming up to my birthday and i am getting 100pound because i did not know what to get and i am now thinking of a fly rod starter pack. what should i be looking for in the starter pack i guessed rod and reel but should i be looking at ones with nets or fly boxes or what. and also if anyone has any used ones they want to flog that could be a good idea. also is there any lakes around poole area that are in riding distance on a bike or rivers. sam

its not really open to the public because it is for his close friends. no paul it wasnt on your fly rod but i am very tempted to buy a fly rod now seen as its my birthday saturday sam

me, dad and daniel went up and had a look around trevors trout farm yesterday, never seen so many fish. on the way back we had a go in a beginners lake were trevor said there were some 10 pounders swimming round. i was quick to have a go and get bitten off by this massive fish. we all had a go and the total catch was. me; 1brown 2rainbows biggest 8.5 lbs dan; 2 rainbows biggest around 8.5 lbs dad; 1 brown 3rainbows biggest about 2.5lbs yeah ok it was a beginners lake but how many beginners lakes is there with double figure fish in them. thanks trevor for a nice couple of hours sam

dad likes the look of the arvor but mum reckons its a bit small because the arvor 250 is only 2 ft bigger. dads looking but i think he would get less hassle if he did the bathroom and get that done sam

If the forecast stays as it is. our Bream Comp may also be off. Due to the visit from Burnham on the 29th we would probably also postpone to the 5th June. At least we coud still fish both comps Charlie

yeah but if your going to weigh them put them in the sack which cradles the whole body and stops the fish being damaged. sam

i have watched about 8 fly fishing videos today and i am raring to go just need some tuition i want to be able to do it before we go to wales [july] some great places over there so the sooner the better. sam
