  9. To get the terminology spot on there are two main types of O/B fuel connectors. Mercury (quicksilver) and OMC (Outboard Marine Company) which was the old Evinrude/Johnson set up. It's quite easy to change the fuel PIPE ends to suit the tank fittings, less easy to change the tank fittings. However why not make a short tail tail fuel pipe with a Mercury (male end) to fit the tank and an OMC (male end ) to accept the female end of the existing pipe. Most O/B engineers have this bit of kit so they only need one fueltank at the engine testing bay. Tank/pipe/fuel fittings can be found on Ebay or any O/B engine breaker Mad Mike

  11. My piece of magic seaweed sugests that June will be colder, wetter and windier than average this year. Don't be misled in to thinking summer is here by the warm couple of days this weekend. The only slim chance of a good spell in June is if the 'Azores high' extends enough to cover the SW and S areas of the UK.   13. a rather dangerous and misleading comment I feel. but lets not get into a detailed discussion regarding the COLREGS ........... If you can get by without actually steaming into them (or endangering your, or any other, craft of course) it's for the best. At the time of imminent grounding on a shallow area with breaking waves one does not have the time to discuss the details of col reg. And as a general rule of thumb in 'restricting' conditions in a 'restricted' channel the vessel with the greater draft has the right of way. I would not hesitate to hold my course if, to do other, would put me and my craft in real danger. Mad Mike

  18. In general relays use quite light wiring on the actuating side of their circuit and heavier wiring on the side powering the item controlled. So relays tend to be fitted near to the item they control to save long runs of heavy wire. I would guess the relays/relay is/are near the electric motor powering the hydraulic pump. Mad Mike
