  1. Thanks Charlie, I was thinking the slip way near Hurst and I'm looking at a couple of wrecks in the Solent, theres one just west of Yarmouth, simply for a mark to start on and its close to the IOW north coast, so hoping it will be sheltered. If it looks to rough, I will certainly be straight back in. Regards Gordon
  2. I was thinking of me as well and wishing I had gone. Iv'e posted another help as I'm thinking of going Saturday, but again unsure with my new boat See you out there soon Manic Gordon
  3. Hi folks, me again. Didn't make it today as I didn't fancy going out on my own as I'm still getting to know the boat. I fancy a try on Saturday and it looks like a SE wind so thought some where between Hurst and IOW I have some wreck marks marked around here Question Is the weather looking good enough? Are there any potential marks that would produce on this wind and tide What would I expect to catch ($6M?) Now in cold turkey Regards Manic Gordon
  4. Member desperate to get my line pulled. Evan doggies would be greatfully recieved. If anyone is going out on Thursday and needs a hand and share costs, I'll even bring the sandwiches and tea. If not perhaps some one could give some advice on where to take the boat, not too far out. Just give me a call. The tide and weather looks ok (to me anyway!) Regards Manic Gordon
  5. Thanks for all your tips folks, but there must be a bit more to this fishing lark. The weather wasn't brilliant, S/Wly was gusting to about 20+MPH so drifting proved difficult. Didn't get a touch. Tried along the channels near Rockly and tried mooring up in the Wareham channel. I guess if was easy it wouldn't be so much fun! Thanks for your support Manic (Gordon)

    Advice

Me and a mate are going to give the harbour a crack on Monday morning for a few flounder, we hope! Would you reconmmend anchoring up some where or drifting. In either case any advice on where and how would help, as last time we did not get a sniff all day (about a month ago). We were drifting the channels around Green Island. We have room for one more if any one is interested, (you would have to bring your own life jacket as I only have 2. Thanks in antisipation Manic ( Gordon )
  7. Hello All My name's Gordon Moore, just about to join the club (cheque's in the post Martin!) Hope you all had a great Christmas. Now the groveling is over HEEEEEEEEEEELP I've been a course fisherman for many years off and on (more recently off for about 10 years) Got the bug again and just bought my first proper boat as I used to indulge in some sea fishing as well. It's a 15' Dory eurosport with a 60 Johnson and me! I would love the chance to get to know a few members for advice and fishing company (god, this sounds like a personal ad!) GSOH!!! Seriously, if any one needs crew or would like to get out on a boat, I'm your man. I'm hoping to get out Monday so any tips on where? Should see a few of you at the Jan meeting Happy new on Manic
