An eye for the Birds.

Saw this pretty little thing down at Hamworthy park:

We were told it's a Snow Bunting and been here since December the 30th.

Certainly is Jim....a really rare sighting down south coast !!

A winter visitor to our coastlines, often seen in small flocks and once located the bird is confident in it's camouflaging feathers and therefore easier to study or photograph.

its not common on "our" coastlines, which is why it's causing such a stir.

"Only a few pairs of snow bunting breed here, so look out for this striking black-and-white bird in winter around Scotland, the North West and the East coast of England".

Jim, that is a wonderful photograph, really good quick thinking on jackie"s part to snap that. The character and clarity of the building in the foreground ,  the other buildings and mature trees in the main body, and the proportion of the sky are excellent, and yet the main subject adorns the centre stage most elequently .                           A bit of a wonderful memory maker moment for you and Jackie to see and take a photo of this rare visitor to the south coast of england,  fantastic !           Jim, I think you should consider printing out an A four size photo for you and Jackie to hang in your home , I will be more than happy to find you some live edge wood I have cut on my sawmill that I think will frame it to perfection and add to the character of the Sean .     That's Jackie s birthday or Christmas pressie sorted which ever comes first 😄.     And if you could consider it I would love a copy , more than happy to donate to you or our club charity,  may be some others thinking similar👍.         Well done Jackie.                                 Colin.         Farmer and countryman.

That would be an interesting challenge Colin.  It's impossible to carve something from a photo without expert art & sculpting skills but I've managed it a few times. 👍🙂

Yes I'm up for it. Can you bring me some bits of a similar size please.

It needs to be seasoned or it will warp & split all over the place.

Are you coming to Feb's meeting?

Jim, Terry is right, I meant to print out a glossy A 4 on normal photographic paper, you know the old fashion way! Then frame that. Right, now on the basis a man that never made a mistake never made anything 😄 and when I was at school a triangle had three sides😄 now  let's have a go.the second way,  A friend of my family has a printing business , we are developing the idea of printing wedding photos etc on to figured wood, so you would need to what's-up  the photo to my phone Jim  😄(07730249907) and leave the rest to me.                                              And thirdly, if your carving technique does work you might amaze your self, have a go, nothing ventured nothing gained, that could turn out good as well,  life's a learning curve Jim.  😄👍

I was awake at 4 this morning thinking of this.

(Probably a lie in) for you. 🙂

I'll send you the full photo and you can crop it to suit your needs.

The bit I posted on here is already cropped & zoomed so I don't think it'll be any good at A4 size.

Probably a bit grainy.

I'll send it to you.

Yes got it Jim thanks,   when you print out your copy print a size your happy with jim, I understand what your saying about the grainy bit so you may have to compromise on size so your happy with quality       👍.                                                                                       Colin
