Christmas Turkey Comp!

Ok due to the great lack of Flounders I thought we could try a different Christmas Competition.

 

Species Competition within the harbour

 

£5.00 entry

 

Individual angler 21st December (shortest day and first day of winter!)

 

First prize A Christmas Turkey, bottles and other festive goodies to fourth place

 

PLEASE sign up for this in advance, unfortunately I cannot make the December meeting but it would be good to have an indication of numbers around that time, so put your name down, we always have a good picnic and even a glass or two on the Christmas Competition.

I hope to be out on Sea Kestrel with Chris S and his mate….they’re both non members so only me entering the comp.

Gutted, have just spent half an hour down the boat with Oli from Yellow Penguin. He confirmed what we suspected.  I have a seized starter motor due to water ingress and a possible sensor issue. Fisheagle will  probably not coming out to play before the New Year.

Sorry to hear that Allan.

Unbelievably due to my van being stood up for 10 weeks whilst recovering from surgery, the Van’s starting motor started to make a noise. Took it into the Garage and the culprit is the extreme damp weather we have been having.
A bit of corrosion set in so had to get it replaced.

I understand your pain

Hope you can get it fixed soon.

OK guys, i am back in the land of the living after i think 11 days of no internet. I am definately looking into Starlink!!

 

 

Thankyou Chris for the update, sorry to hear your problems Alan, hope its soon fixed.

 

For the few who have entered i checked with Louise on the bridge and the following lifts are supposedly happening.

AM 7.30-8.30- 9.30

PM  14.30

Those she confirmed will be happening, 

 

Please basically start when you want, come in on the 14.30 bridge and we will meet in the bar at Cobbs 3-3.15.

for the Turkey prize giving, we will rob you of £5.00 entry in the bar!!

 

Plenty of time to enter, only four boats and 9 club members, come on guys sign up and make my day!

Many thanks Greg, but I don't want to give too many secrets away! Ann has now made other plans for me.

I believe Colin (farmer ) was possibly coming out with me. So he could be worth a try if you still need someone.

 

Update, I  was quoted  £700 for a genuine Suzuki Marine starter motor. After a bit of searching around I found a non Marine one which a Marine electrician tells me is the same and is also used on some motor bikes and cars. I have ordered one for  £177 including delivery on the 27 th. Dec.

 

My electrician also said there is an excellent guy in Winbourne who will repair alternators and starter motors at his premises including outboard ones. My phone quote gave a price of around  £120 to £140. So much less than initially thought.

Will try and get down to Cobbs at the end of Comp. as I originally promised a bottle of Prosecco. It can be offered as a prize or raffled to raise a few pounds.
