Can anyone say if G.P.S. is affected by dense fog.?.If so,looks like chart and compass need to be an essential requisite on board ,and the knowledge of thier use. { a dying art, I suspect these days.].. jack

A mate of mine who handles e-mail in a government dept has warned me about the virus mentioned.I am not a PC graduate so I just pass it on for what its worth. It arrives in your e-mail,often from a known contacts address,it attacks and destroys some part of your hard drive if opened.CNN.are unable to prevent or cure it {whoever they are ] Microsoft are working on it and made a statement yesterday. It appears you must not open anything headed"Invitation",nor anything referring to the capture of Ossama bin Laden,or to the execution of Sadam Hussein So there you are...just for info. jack

Thanks one and all,it was'nt so much a case of not wanting to join in,but Andy is in midst of major home -works as well as his own work,so we worked on the assumtpion that he would not be out last week-end.In fact I am never told until the evening before,if we are going out or not.makes things a little awkward but beggars cant be choosers. cheers jack

PAL-O-Mine .Andy and I were able to get out on Sunday,[due to the rumour put about that the weather would be far to bad for Andy to work on his loft conversion, cant think who started that one] Headed out to an offshore mark, into rather lumpy conditions, arrived only to find Martin and Dean on site.Despite our earlier assurances about taking pity on pennant flying club members we dropped anchor amongst some quite impressive swells. We picked up the inevitable but welcome doggies,as well as a pollack and small conger. At this point we noticed that Martin, who had seemed busy when we arrived was now doing nothing.fearing that our arrival had "queered the pitch" so to speak, and valueing our club membership ,we upped and cleared off.Moved inshore ,passing several club boats with crew concentrating on the tasks in hand ,took a leisurely lunch in the shelter of Ballard down where the tide fell away, and, after an hour of idly turning round and round in the keen wind,we retreated through the car park of boats gathered around Brownsea Castle to Cobbs and gave the boat a major turn-out and scrub down,A good day out, some fish on board, plenty of fresh air,and several outstanding jobs completed. What more could you ask for on a winters day in mid November...Congratulations to those on the competition prize list ,..Look foreward to seeing the results...Jack and Andy
