  1. I'll smuggle a few Rag worm and bits of fish on board and secrete them away somewhere. That'll liven things up a bit. Jim
  2. I was wondering if they would Graham. Hope it's all in your favour ! Jim
  3. I hope the weather's good for the whole weekend. Poole Boat show. Swanage Kayak ( I'm on Martin's boat ) And Bream comp / Video promo shoot. I'm gonna be busy. Jim

  6. This is now Cancelled. We hope to do it at a later date. Jim
  7. Yes Rob. Sorry should have replied earlier. The Alderney ring demo probably would be a good idea. Bring the necessary and we'll see if we can fit it in. Jim
  8. Wind / weather sites still showing OK for tomorrow. Just spoke to Kev ( I'm in ) He fished the comp today. He said it was OK this morning and blew up this afternoon. Similar tomorrow but not so calm as today early on. If the forecasts are accurate we'll be OK. Jim
  9. All of the weather sites are showing 12 mph E.S.E. wind with some saying 17 mph gusts and others saying 25 mph gusts. I think it's doable so We're On ! Do we want to meet up inside or outside of the Harbour and what time ? Do we want to film inside or outside of the Harbour before going on to Studland or Old Harry? Jim
  10. Just looked at Wind Guru. 9:00 tomorrow morning for Studland Bay: Wind 10 mph Gusts 15 mph so still OK. I'll check again later. Jim

    The Royal Navy

Saw this years ago but forgot all about it. Enjoyed it all over again. ☺
  12. Enjoy the trip. Take your lovely wife, make a weekend of it, Make sure the bearings have been serviced / replaced. RIGHT PRICE ! Off you go. Have fun ! If nothing else, it's a nice trip out ! And you may or may not buy but you'll gain experience in what's out there & prices. Jim
  13. Yeah that's what YOU say !
  14. Happy Birthday Tony. Only met ya once but I can still wish you a very happy Birthday. Have some cake and get Gary to buy you some beers. Jim
  15. I'll need some advice from more seasoned boaters tomorrow please. 11 mph easterly showing at the mo. The wind is fine at that speed but no shelter anywhere from the waves. Let's see what it looks like at about 3 ish tomorrow and decide then. Please give me your views then as to whether we go ahead or cancel. And yes it's my decision so if my drone goes scuba diving it's my own fault. Thanks in advance. Jim
  16. Cor ! I like the sound of THAT Alun. Can you speak to the big man upstairs and book some for Sunday Jim
  17. Steve: Yes they are rechargeable. Luckily I bought a car charger a while ago although I've not used it yet. Charging time is a couple of hours on mains so I don't know what it's like with the car charger. I have four batteries. List price £100 each. Listed flying time is 25 minutes. But I have a Gimball & a GOPRO which brings the time to about 14 - 15 minutes. Add to that the return home not working and as batteries get low it will land in the sea. Probably manage a re charge at some point. Adam & Graham and anyone else: Would it be worth a later start ? Is there a bridge lift at 8:30 ? Is it worth bringing a fishing rod and have a slightly later rendezvous for filming? If the wind gets up too much I'll stop flying. Drones are expensive y'know ! ! Jim
  18. Right. The plan now is: The filming will be done from Martin's boat. Martin at the helm. Me as pilot. And Steve M has kindly volunteered his services as my crew / catch & release officer. We should have enough batteries for just under an hour total filming so plan your wish lists working on 12 minute flying slots and we'll see what we can do. Sunday Morning 7:30 bridge for Cobb's users. Jim
  19. Greetings all, I think I'd better ask what time people want to start on Sunday morning. I think early is best to avoid other boats' wakes and the wind is less in the morning and increasing later. I'm happy for Cobb's Quay users to catch the ½7 lift and meet up in the Harbour or similar. Some of you may want a lie-in. Would a 7:45 rendezvous in the Harbour be OK ? Also, for legal reasons, I have to ask you all if it's OK to fly above or near you and to film you. If you turn up it will be deemed that you accept this. Also you will all be under my control or that of my crew (volunteers) on the day. Obvious I know but the rules a very tight. I am insured so in the unlikely event of a problem you are covered. Let us know your thoughts please. Jim
  20. Quote Rob: ( Easterly slop isn't fun!!! ) Not too bad with plenty of salt & pepper and some fresh bread to dip in it ! Thanks for looking at it Rob. It's still looking doable at the moment. Jim
  21. Happy Birthday Adam, Hope all's well. You know the rules: Beer & Cake. Jim
  22. I went to Anglesey for the Tiddler. We made a weekend of it. It's just miles. If the price is right you can buy the extra seats. If it's not you can wait for another to come up for sale. Grimsby's not THAT far from Warrior's factory depending if you're a half full or half empty kinda bloke. Jim
  23. Nice looking specimen.
