    Birmingham Navy!

It's alright Neal. You don't need to beat around the bush like that. It is scary sometimes though. We had a couple of " shrove Tuesday enthusiast " come flying past us when we were on safety duty for the Swanage Kayak meet. Jim
  3. Looked horrible over there Steve. I bet you'll be glad to get back to Poole Harbour's crystal clear waters.
  4. Bu**er ! Oh well the main thing Nige, home safely ! ! As has been said, well done to all who gave or offered help.

I think I know Wayne's surname ! It's Kerr. I think it's down to education. We were taught manners and respect for other people etc. etc. etc. Just not on the tick box list now is it ?

    Hi Just joined

OH yes it is ! Welcome Chris. Jim
  17. Sorry Johnny, I assumed you had a GPS. The harbour is nearly all mud. If you don't have a GPS or chart plotting skills, you will definitely get stuck. If you don't have a GPS some of the members have chart aps on their phones. Although there's no substitute for the real thing. Have fun but be careful. Jim

  21. Paul, What we do is just a tiny drop in the ocean. But with enough drops, you can create a sea. Glad to have helped in some small way for such a worthy cause. These people will benefit from your work. Keep it up. Jim
  22. Very good news Steve. Jim
  23. You are correct Johnny. Plan your trip. If you try to go ( or be ) up there on a low spring tide you'll run out of water. Most of the time though it's do-able for a small boat. They run trips from Poole Quay on the big yellow boats to Wareham Quay so there's plenty of water in the channel ( except at low-ish tides ). 4 miles per hour in the river. Plenty of places for a meal and a pint in the town. I took Jacqui up there recently and we carried on under the bridge all the way up to the by-pass ( plenty of water ). Nice little afternoon pootle to take mrs. Johnny B. Jim

    Open Thanks

Sorry I couldn't make it. Thanks to your wife Rob for allowing you to devote all the time and effort needed for this. We all send her a kiss & thanks. - - - - - - - - - - - Oh I suppose thanks to you too Jim
  25. I found the same thing on Tiddler's sounder a couple of weeks back. I was getting ready for my next trip and noticed that the transducer was slightly angled up at the back. I angled it down a couple of degrees and it's perfect now. Jim
