  1. Rich How much extra detail does it give you for our area ? Mick
  2. Brian Have a look at these, there not to far away and have brought from them before. http://www.pacermarine.co.uk/outboards/acc.../yamaha-lock-2/ Mick
  3. Brian I can get a padlock through the holes in the toggles. Not very secure but would stop someone just walking away with it. I dont know what the minimum sort of locks the insurance would want. Mick
  4. Brian Only safe way is to take it home. Any of those locks secure it to the mounting pad. Some scum bag will just dismantle the bracket. Mick

    Rod repairers?

Nige go and see Tom at Christchurch Angling they do rod repairs Mick
  6. Im no expert but my best advice is keep it simple. zip slider 4ft hook length 3/0 or 4/0 hook baited with mackerel sqid or rag or a combination of them. always works for me for general fishing in the bay when im not bothered what i catch. Make sure you have enough weight to keep you on the bottom. this time of year 90% of my fishing is done with the mackerel i catch whole fillet little strips or just chunks, Dont get me wrong there are lots of different ways to fish and finesse and targeting particular species involve different tactics but that can all come later. as others have said fish with someone that knows what they are doing. theres nothing worse than not knowing if your doing it right or not. Just keep at it and enjoy, Mick

    Tide question

As Rob said there is big tides next week easy tide predict Thurs Fri Sat will only have 0.3 at Christchurch entrance. Worth having a look at the bar and what the channel looks like if you use Christchurch. I sat on Mudeford key at 1515 yesterday and it looked prity shallow to me, but it did not stop an orkney 21 coming in. i thought very brave, he probably had lots of local knowledge as he came in from a totally different route than i would use. Mick
  15. happy Birthday Martin Take it easy and enjoy Mick

  21. I was in Tuckton Creek for about 18months i had no problems but i leave nothing on board but it is a bit of a pain loading it on and off. I have a friend that has his boat there with no problems. I do know of a couple of incidents in the last two years but only petty thefts. Its qyuite busy with people about whichs helps. Is anywhere safe, i hear my about problems in Poole than i do in Christchurch. Hope it helps. I know how you feel but you have live with it get it well insured. dont make it easy for them. Having said all that i moved onto the island for more security and a floating pontoon Mick ps if you do put it there let me know and give me your contact details i check the boats regulary as i live close by. (300M or closer)
  22. Allan Hope you fel better soon. I was told this week of someone who has claimed back their mooring fees for the time they could not use their boat following a car accident so its worth a try. Mick
  23. This kayak draws more water than they say it does Mick B
  24. Whilst heading out for the cod comp on sunday morning we saw a Seal in Christchurch run. I would like to know if this is common for this area, I have never seen one before in the wild. Mick B
