We managed 12 nice Bream to 2lb in a couple of hours. We saw you heading back in Stuie we were 100 mtrs south of Steve. Bobi had a very early Garfish on the bottom which was a surprise and a nice Corkwing.

Just to say the October fish of the month was shared by myself and Nigel. Don't want Nigel to miss out.

Charlie and Budgie I agree miss those trips all over the country fishing for the AAF and the combined services teams. Budgie are you the same budgie that I new when I was in the mob. I was the big ugly back caster. In fact I still am ( before Rob says it ) With regards to the match fishing I have to agree that it is bloody hard work. If you want to win you have to work at it and it is a continuous process. I used to match fish shore, and boat and trout fly fishing, only through lots of prep and practice did I manage to get a few good results. It's great that you are going to give George your support Mike. I'm sure you will both learn lots and put into practice what you learn. I wish you both all the best in your quest for knowledge. I am still tempted sometimes to have a go at the odd match,I have even got myself a tubertini quiver tip and had great fun with it on Tuesday. Who knows I might even join you sometime Mike and George. Good luck to you both.

Hear hear Martin. So the flounder comp is sacrificed for a Cod comp that produced no Cod, so what happens if there are no Cod this time??.If the Flounder comp produces no flounders we then have two comps to reschedule. There is the danger here of setting a precedent, every time a comp has a bad result will we have to fish it again???? And again and again until the nominated fish is caught. As Martin says we are a democratic club. So air your views and help Neil make his decision.

Nige what I am saying is, the comp was fished and nothing was caught therefore the trophy doesn't get awarded this year. If the comp had been postponed then another date would be fine, but it wasn't and a lot of boats braved the bad conditions.

The Cod comp was fished on the set date. No Cod weighed in. End of. That's fishing...... Try again next year.

I too will not be at the meeting. I am taking auditions for the Dorset Youth Jazz Orchestra. If anyone has a budding young musician in the family I am always on the lookout for good players.

Ian the New Zealand way would be really good but they follow up with the punishments where as over here it's only a slapped wrist!!!! Don't start me on trawling. I was out a couple of weeks ago with my son who is making a pop video. We were very early, first light, and right in front of us going along the small boat channel of the swash on the training bank side was a Beamer. I didn't have time to get close enough to get his PE number or boat name as we had to get the film done at first light. Just pure greed .

At 0700hrs last Wednesday there was a combined fisheries and police raid at Evening Hill. The target for this raid was the gang of Chinese shell fish gatherers who have been hammering the Clams, mainly Razor Clams. Please be aware it is illegal to take Clams, this includes Razors, without a licence. I have spoken to the fisheries and they confirmed this includes Razors for bait !!!!!

We spend a lot of time fishing on the drift on Boblin and have managed some very good catches over the years. It's an enjoyable way of catching fish. So why is it that there are people out there intent on making it less enjoyable. I'm talking about the prats that decide to start a drift down tide/wind and only a few meters away. I've grown up with drift fishing and there was always an unwritten rule that you always start your drift uptide of someone already on a drift, not muscle in front. This etiquette seems to be completely ignored these days which I think is such a shame. It's not just Wally anglers who don't know what they are doing. We have had a lot experienced anglers in decent boats set their drift just meters down tide of us over the last few weeks. Anyway rant over. Get out there and drift for those red spots there's plenty enough for all this year. Just remember to think of others before you start your drift.

It's great in October come and fish the Festival Bobi and me will be there clambering over the rocks and cliffs. Catching 40lb Conger on the shore is great fun.

Instead of staying indoors with your rod in your hand eh? ;-)
