  1. Pay for a quality tip ring though - not one of the cheap silvery ones which rust out quickly. The rod's worth it,

  5. Just back from a 5 day trip on Offshore Rebel with Paul W. He too was bemoaning the lack of fish - although we didn't concentrate on the flats but more mixed fishing. Only two flats on the boat. A few pollock and the odd cod on the wrecks and deep reefs and lots of good huss and bream when able to anchor. And managed a 45lb est. tope on a big hook Charlie - I do have one or two. Paul posted a pic.... Weather couldn't be faulted....

  9. Rich agreed to slum it for a day on Sea Dream for some mixed fishing - drifting to start with. So it was around 9.30 we set ouit with plenty of worms and lots of anticipation. First few drifts were in the harbour near the Stakes but no takers and not too bad with weed. So off we went under Rich's guidance to an area I woulld never have considered and Bingo Rich had three spotties in quick succession. Muggins managed a checker bass... A leasurely lunch on a mooring boy we started phase two towards Brownsea - by this time wind was against tide and affecting the drift so off we went again to another position outside the harbour and he was at it again - tow good spotties to Rich on the first drift. I caught something on the next drift - like a plaice but smaller - but interest kept happening. and it was at 5pm we set off back towards Cobbs - After being swamped by Looby three (Only Joking Jerry) What a cracking day - and no-one can take it away from us. Thanks Rich - great crewing - and the fishing wasn't bad either...
