  1. I am looking to buy a second hand Fox 5 metre 3 - 5 ounce multi-tip long beach casting rod if anyone knows of one that is surplus to requirements. The rod is no longer in production. Stuie
  2. This is getting like a kiss and tell from the News of the Screws - I'd take out an injunction Derek - they're all the rage. Stuie
  3. Well done Nige - hope our trip on True Blue is as enjoyable - Colins pic of you on Boblin suggests you were suffering from heat exhaustion with all that clothing, probably enhanced by an overdose of oriental cuisine too. Stuie

Welcome Martin, you've made a great decision to join the club. I only joined a few months ago, but if the welcome you recieve is anything like the one the members have given me, you'll quickly realise just how good it is. Advice and support available and offered is second to none, and not forgetting the banter of course which is guaranteed to keep your feet firmly on the ground. Stuie
  5. Great pics and great story guys. Wetted my appetite - I'm fortunate to be visiting the island with Steve Porter on Sunday next.... can't wait. Stuie
  6. We too were listening to the radio chat as you all came back across. It sounded like it was an interesting return journey and its pleasing to note that you all returned safely, if somewhat tired. Well done all. Stuie
  7. Tried the patch, both inner and outer, but met with little bream action, eight in all over the session. Little else to report save for a small pollock and red gurnard, apart from the usual mackerel, wrasse, gobies and pout keeping the activity going. Interesting return journey when the wind whipped up the sea quite quickly. Another great day afloat. Similar to Mike Fox, I had a bream of 1 lb and Cabin Boy had one a little smaller.

  9. You might have tried a few more marks Derek - I hear your winch is a newer model than mine. You won't be out on Sunday then?
  10. Shout up on Ch 6 when you come out Jon - we may still be out. We usually return to Cobbs around 4.30. Weather report doesnt look too bad for the morning and early afternoon.
  11. Planning to go out at 8am with Cabin Boy, conditions permitting we'll try one or two banks further out. Always having the patch as a fall back and bream 'fix'. Will anyone else be venturing out?

Go for it Jim. We could then have a picture of you in shorts steering Megabite.
  13. Best wishes to you both. Any fishy prezzies?
  14. Well done Jim. It looks like you all had an enjoyable day. I expect the children will now be pestering you for another trip.
  15. I won't believe it until the photographic evidence is posted Jim - complete with date stamp.
  16. Planning to miss the wedding too. We will be setting out from Cobbs around 8am and monitoring Ch 6. It may well be a bit loppy outside the harbour but we shall see. Keeping our options open.

Neal, have a look at this link. There's some very useful advice. http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/cons.../complaints.htm

I can't get out either day - two shore competitions... Leave some bream for me.
  19. Many happy returns Jim, I hope you have a memorable day.
  20. Like several of the Poole based boats we went out early to the Swash and difted, and drifted finding not a lot other than frustrating weed. Eventually, around lunchtime a flastty obliged - a flounder at long last of just under 1lb. Thirty minutes later a spotty did likewise - 32cm and 15 ounces in all. A glorious day out - what weather. Alfie on Dream Drifter managed two spotties I believe, and larger too.

Great stuff Graham, looks like they were queuing up on your fish finder.
  22. You have a full boat then Brian. Good luck. We'll be out from Poole?
  23. Took Sea Dream to the ledge today, on our longest trip to date. With favourable tide and wind in no time we were dropping the hook in about 6 metres of water. Sadly no bream but a very early garfish and the reliable ballans came aboard. The tide eased and we moved back to the Swash area for a few unsuccessful drifts where we met up with Derek and crew on Sea Sparkle. Another glorious day afloat - what a life.
  24. Poole Harbour - five rescued from sinking cruiser on Sunday http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-12954623
