Heard the Forecast yesterday afternoon and decided the weather was going to be too rough to get out today.Got up at about 8am thismorning to no wind and a blue sky,But I released all my Ragworms yesterday evening as I thought it was a no go. Oh well.I had loads of sorting/cleaning up to do seeing as everything got soaked.I was just finishing cleaning my cadac(cooker/bbq when my phone went.It was Ben(Seagypsy) asking If I wanted to go for a few hours in Poole harbor. ;D.He had worms left from yesterday. After 5 minutes of talking my other half round to it I was on my way to evening Hill. Got to the launch in about 15 minutes and this was the sight that greeted us.It was calm at home but blowing a F6 + in the harbor A quick change of plan and we were heading towards Turlin Moor.A place where you dare not go under 20mph in your car otherwise your wheels would be gone ;D ;D It was still windy there but an easy launch and a 10 minute battle against the wind to find some shelter.Paul (Sprinter)also joined us. Alot calmer than evening hill Sprinter Trying to keep an eye on our cars And I managed to catch ;D Thanks Ben and Paul for giving me some worms and for a good few hours out blowing the cobwebs away

Love the film. I have just put a quick report on the other thread.I will do the photo's either later or tomorrow.Depends if we are taking the kayaks to the surf reef or not

A friend of mine at work was out with the RNLI crew till 4am this morning looking for this man.It was a 2mtr Rib they found. He said it was seen at about 4.30pm yesterday around Barton area, not sure if it had anyone onboard then.

So you look like a Telly Tubie or a power ranger with your dry suit on Just like everyone else The easiest way to get the suit on is Legs first, then pull it up the body. Then your arms and finaly your head. Then just reverse the process to take it off
-
Welcome to the club Graham I look forward to seeing your new yak.I had a look on the link and it looks very stable.I am sure your going to enjoy the experiance. As I do shift work I am off during the week days so if you are ever off during the week just give me a shout and we can get out for a few hours
-
My kayak hasnt either
-
I see you asked about the T11 on anglers afloat.I forgot all about that one as it was a few pages back. That is another good kayak and a good price too. Not to far to travel to pick it up if he still has it. You will be able to go across to the island on your boat and pick it up
-
I think Maver(Steve)on this forum has a T15.Loads of storage space,Or he might have the smaller T13. I travelled to the other side of Birmingham in heavy snow to pick my kayak up
-
The guy that is selling it has not been well for some time so needs a lighter, smaller kayak. When I got my first kayak(caper) I said I only wanted it for close inshore and in the harbor. But it never works out that way .A few months down the line I needed a better one that would get me out further and less effort to paddle. I am not fit.Far from it (I excpect I am the same size as you). When we go out we always paddle the speed of the slowest person. In the summer/spring we dont seem to go so far out.Fish around Durley Rock/Poole patch and in the solent alot.
-
Here is a good deal on A trident 15 if your intrested. You might need to join the forum to view. Its on Anglers afloat. The kayak is in Wales and comes with loads of extra's http://anglersafloat.proboards.com/index.c...lay&thread=8295

You have to mind it doesnt leak either. There was a problem with the x13 last year. If its what you want then go for it.But so many people have bought in haste only a few months down the line they are changing their kayaks because it didnt suit their needs. If you dont mind me asking ....what sort of price are they asking for the kayak?
-
I cant really coment on the first one as they are mainly in the US. But the second link is similar to the Malibu x13.To me they are a heavy slow kayak and cost alot over here. You can carry loads of kit.But do you need loads of stuff out with you? The Malibu had a big following last year, but that seems to have dwindled away. Most people go towards the Ocean Kayak range. As I said...You wont go far wrong with a P13
-
If your going to get one without trying first the P13 is a wise choice and good all rounder I am on my 4th Kayak and its a p13.Just wish I had got one first time round. It would have saved me alot of money
-
I agree with James there,a P13 is an ideal all rounder.I have one at the moment. You can pick them up second hand and all rigged up. Your welcome to try mine out if you have a spare afternoon somewhere in the near future.
-
Graham. That was my first ever kayak. It's a lovely stable fishing kayak and excellent for close in fishing and around the harbor on neap tides. But it is a strugle in strongish tides,Or if you want to paddle some distance Why dont you come along to the Flounder meet on the 5th of December at Rockly (lake pier). There will be loads of Kayaks to try out.If you havnt got a dry suit I can take mine along for you to borrow as I wont be using it that day. I will be at the PBSBAC meeting on the 3rd of December if you want a chat about different kayaks.
-
Just an update. The rod raffle is up to
-
:)Many Thanks Paul, committee and members of PBSBAC. I have spoken to John(Charity organiser) who is in charge of the raffle tickets and he is sending some to me for the club meeting.I think Ian (Moonfleet) is also comming to the meeting on the 3rd of December
