Hope to see you at one of the meetings. Its a great club and you will be made very welcome

  4. I hope you havent been looking at Whale tails this time of the morning whilst your wifes in bed Jim
  5. Had a look through all the pics whilst at work. I must say it looks like you all had a wonderful time out there.I really enjoyed the pics they were excellent. Now.....who's up for taking the kayaks over next year and act as a mother ship But saying that I think the currents would be well out of our League

    Are they for kayaks Jim?
  8. Looks like you had an action packed weekend James. Excellent write up and pics. I had some Mackerel and Bream yesterday(Parents BBQ) washed down with loads of beer
  9. Wow.What a catch Looks like a Big Sea Trout to me.
  10. A few Kayakers will be on Poole patch this Friday making use of the good weather forecast(as long as it doesnt change again ) Maybe see a few of the boat boys out there .I will be flying my PBSBAC flag on the kayak. I did see someone out there last Saturday flying the flag. They did slow down and give us a wave,It was a boat with a big glass door into the cabin area.I am not to sure who it was though. In time I will come to know who is who by their boat
  11. Excellent report James. Looks like you all had a good time up there. Some really nice fish caught.I am pleased for Ian as it was his first tope and he has tried a few times for them. Its a long old trip though.11 hours round trip.
  12. That was most probably a Hobbie Kayak. They are fast kayaks.Paul J has one.The good thing about those kayaks are you can hold a rod and work a lure whilst you are peddling. They are expensive though probably at around
  13. Had an early session on Poole patch this morning. Met Milo at about 5am . Was on the water by 5.30 where we had a slow paddle whilst trolling feathers. No Mackerel showing. First drop I had a small Smoothound which took Rag worm on a Wishbone rig. Then had a small Bream. We were the only ones out there untill about 8am.Then a few small boats started to arrive followed by some charters. The Bream seemed to come and go in waves with about half an hour wait inbetween. I also had a dogfish. Milo caught a nice Bream of about 3lb my biggest went to about 1.5lb. Had to pack up at about 10.15 as we only had tickets on our cars untill 11am.It was an enjoyable morning with a few fish caught and another species for my list

    Bream Comp

All the forecasts I have seen are predicting 17 - 20mph winds from the south/s-west The most I go out in is 10mph,Its way too dangerous on a kayak in anything more than that. I am going to have a go tomorrow at Poole Patch seeing as light winds up to 5mph are forecasted.Early start at 5am .Then look at the forecast tomorrow afternoon for Sunday.

  16. Top Man I will give you a ring in the week Paul.
  17. Cheers Charlie. Just read the rules. If no other club member (Kayaker) is able to go can I still fish with another person if they are not a member?I know on a boat only one has to be a member.
  18. Martin. Is the club Bream comp and the open different events? I would like to fish the club one (As long as I can get another kayaker to fish with me)but dont think we will be allowed to enter the open comp. If we do fish the club one do we still have to book in at Poole Angling centre and weigh in at the Pure Drop ? Many thanks Mark
  19. Any Kayakers fishing the Bream comp on Sunday 16th May? Want to try a Mark I have heard of.Might have to launch over Studland side though or face a long paddle from Sandbanks
  20. They have had a good trade out of me on their Anchors
  21. Surface poppers and shallow diving plugs work well round shallow rocky area's.Try the shallow divers Blue/silver combination(They look a bit like small Mackerel)
  22. A few members last night asked if we caught congers from a kayak. These pics were taken on Christchurch ledge last year during a night session. The congers were caught by Richi and Phooey. James(Overrun) has also had a few at Blue Anchor Bay.
