Well done to all those Juniors who took part in today's first leg of the junior fishing competition. There were some good fish caught and the weather just held out. Please email me your score sheets when ready, as stated, the best day's score sheet and best specimens over the three days size will be put forward for prizes. I will start with some images of the day on Marlin. It would be good to see more images of other competitors catches. See you all on the 28th August for the second leg. Greg

Hi all Junior Fishing Competition First Leg Sunday 24th July. The arrangements for tomorrow are as follows:- We will anticipate to fish Poole Bay within the restriction zone up to 1.00PM. Marlin will commence fishing at Poole Patch. The wind is then forecast to increase from then onwards ( i.e. when the tide turns) which means we will then retreat to the harbour. Fishing will commence at 09.30PM and I will be on channel 6 from 08.30 onwards. I will also have my mobile Tele 07748 630343. Can you please report in to me prior to 09.30. Also, remember to fill in your score sheets as you go and return them to me prior to 10th September. Good luck everyone and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Greg

Hi all, Just a reminder that a week tomorrow on Sunday the 24th of July will be the first leg of the Junior fishing competition. All skippers and dads will need to familiarise themselves with the new rules and score sheets. These can be downloaded from the pdf attached at the beginning of this thread. If anyone is unable to download the pdf, please pm me and I will email a copy. One main point to remember is that fishing will be restricted to within a line between Old Harry and Bournemouth pier taking in Poole Patch but not the Sadler banks. Boats will not need to be within one mile of a commodore boat. The following member's Juniors and boats will be taking part on the 24th:- (The closing date for entrants is 23rd July) Chris Samways - Solan Charlotte Samways - Solan Reuben Franklin - Joint Venture Sam Annear - Joint Venture Dom Annear - Joint Venture Blake Witherford - Kingfisher Jacob Givens - Kingfisher Curtis Driver - Reel Magic Sophie Driver - Reel Magic Bradley Toms - Marlin If I have left anyone out or if I have made any errors above please amend as necessary. As the weather is finally beginning to calm down I am very hopeful that we should get a full days fishing in. This of course will be confirmed on this thread on the 23rd July, so please check this thread prior to setting off on the 24th July for instructions. Let's hope the weather Gods are in our favour. Also, Special thanks to Alan Green who has donated an extensive range of fishing tackle and Dave Wilson of MDL who has donated two Abu Garcia rods for the prize table. If any other members are interested in donating prizes please pm me they would be gratefully received. I would also like to mention that on the presentation day (11th September) we are planning to have an array of garden games to keep the Juniors entertained. Greg

Well done Mike, what a great specimen. We call the Undulate the 'Indian Elephant Fish' The wings are the ears, the tail is the trunk, the male parts are the tusks. and the eyes are the eyes!! With all the markings of the Undulate also resembles the Indian Elephants when decorated by their owners. Anyway, back to work!!!!!!!! Greg
