  1. Thank Christ this is an individual comp and not a Boat Comp!!! 😏
  2. Marlin - Greg and Brad Sunday at the moment !!!
  3. Yep, I went down today to get the cards re-programmed for the new car park operation. To be told this has been delayed due to software issues!!! I voiced my frustration to the girl on the desk as they could have let me know beforehand and I would not have made a special trip down. Chas informed me that a code is now required for the gates as the cards do not work due to a director cancelling the security numbers off of all the MDL group's cards. Idiot!! They have little consideration for their customers.
  4. Good call Jerry, Brad and myself were looking to take part this weekend but have been put off by the weather forecast. I would not be against holding the comp in the harbour. It will put everyone on a level pegging including the smaller boats (kayak) who will be able to compete. To be able to win this comp (if held in club waters) you need to travel a few distances to catch the variety of species to compete. I wonder if due to the current fuel cost, this may be a contributing factor why there is not the interest in the number of boats entering this comp as it will be quite expensive on fuel? The obvious problem to restricting the comp to the Harbour is the members who birth in the east of the club waters. However, as this is an individual comp then members at this end of the bay may be able to offer them a place on their boats. Just a couple of thoughts. Greg
  5. Good shout Jerry, And thanks for giving us enough notice. Greg

  7. Well done Neil, It's great when a plan comes together 👍 I have swam with a Stingray but never caught one. Greg
  8. Marlin - Greg and Brad Sunday 19th June
  9. The short spikes on the lateral line reminds me more of the Mother in Law đŸ˜ŦđŸ˜Ŧ A lovely fish Alan, Thanks for sharing. Greg
  10. Got anything else you want to get rid of then Mick ??????? 😁
  11. Happy Birthday Mick, Just to inform you that the reel you sold me a couple of years ago was the one I used on the Bream Comp to catch the winning fish 👍 Greg
  12. Thanks Jim Greg
  13. Thanks Mick Greg
  14. Thank you Jerry, Nine years of being a member and taking part in club competitions and this is my first win 😁 The fish was a beautiful specimen and would have adorned the plate in the finest restaurant. Notice, I said would have !!! Whilst I was cleaning said fish on the rear bathing platform, I had just finished gutting it and was throwing the bucket of entrails into the water with my right hand and the bloody fish popped out of my left hand straight into the drink and went straight down !!! I was gutted, Stuie laughing didn't do anything to help either. đŸ¤ŖđŸ¤Ŗ I must admit I felt a bit of an idiot!! Oh well, you live and learn - again !!!! Here's to the next comp
  15. Yes Mick, it was a bit lumpy going down to Dancing Ledge but we were going with the tide and wind. It would have been a different story if we were heading East đŸ˜Ŧ
  16. Stuie an I headed for Dancing Ledge after getting the 07.30 Bridges from Cobbs. Once we had arrived we had a look around and struggled to find fish after a couple of anchor drops. The going was quite tough with a stiff easterly wind. We then motored out to past just JV and saw some fish on the echo sounder. Stuie and I were both in straight away and constantly catching fish. This is where I caught our best fish weighed in dead on 2lb. At 1.00PM we headed back to Ballard Down to avoid any possible worsening of the wind and sea state. We settled down at Ballard Down and both Stuie and I were straight back in catching fish again. This time smaller fish but still some kept for the pot. It was a great Day and the bonus being taught a couple of things by the Master.
  17. Marlin - Greg and Stuie out on Sunday
  18. The issue you may have Neil, is a lot of big game fishing seasons are out of school holiday terms. For instance, in the Caribbean the season for big game fishing is December, January and February. This is also the most expensive time to go. Unfortunately, you will need to do your research on this one!!
  19. Well Jim, You have lost that steady income from attending the club nights and winning on the raffle. Just goes to show how much you were winning đŸ¤ŖđŸ¤Ŗ Don't worry as soon as the club nights resume you will feel a lot more flushed 👍
  20. Belated Birthday wishes Chris. Great to hear you had a nice surprise party. Here's to the next 60 years 😁 Greg
  21. Okay, Enough is enough. Can we all stop selling our boats please. There won't be a boat club left soon ☚ī¸
  22. Happy belated Birthday Wishes Tony
  23. Working from Home now Jim as there is a power cut up at the office too. I think I will just throw the towel in today!!!!!
  24. Thank you Guys for your kind wishes. Had all the family round last night for a slap up Indian takeaway. Now attending to my Unit with the slate tiles flapping and likely to blow off at any minute. Had one casualty smashed to the ground!! Can anyone recommend a Roofer who replaces slate tiles? Cheers, Greg
