Ray Competition 6-7th August
Yes Martin I know who you mean!!!! He could afford one, boys toys and all that, I think Salterns had a dealer there but Stuie is right there is or was one at Cobbs, never seen it out!!!
Due to the number of changed dates for the Species Competition, the ageing Competition Secretary didn’t see last weeks Species Competition was also meant to be the Flatfish Competition!!!!!! Anyway I suggest the Flatfish Comp is now going to be held on the 16-17th July.
There is a good high heading towards us so let’s hope we get a consistent settled period so we can all get out.
August 6-7th Ray Comp after the Flatfish
Species Comp 2022
First Alan Green 20 Species Fisheagle
Second Mike Fox 13 Species. Marlin
Third Chris Witheford 11 Species. Kingfisher
Well done everyone who took part when we finally managed to run the Competition
The flatfish Competition will be re scheduled this month if the weather plays ball. The Ray Competition we hope will be 6-7th August.
Apologies I am away struggling to catch trout on Wimbleball.
I hope the crew will put a report in, but in short Jerry had 10 species, Stuie had 8 species and the biggest fish (Tope 30lbs) and Dave Wilson had 10 species also, if all other boats could post there catch reports results will follow.
Nice day with a slightly inaccurate weather forecast.
Last attempt to run the the Species Competition 2022
This weekend Saturday looks unsettled but Sunday looks very fishable,
so rather than waiting for a two day window after so many postponements, the Competition will run Sunday July 3rd, I hope a few people manage to make the date.
Obviously use your own discretion as skipper for the weather on the day.
Safety First
Usual process to sign in.
Tight Lines
Jerry
Hi Neil,
If you look at the Competition rules, unfortunately if you are on a working charter boat with other paying anglers you cannot enter the Competition.
You can however enter on the Sunday on your boat. Let’s hope the weather plays ball.
I stand corrected if I have mis read or not understood the ruling.
Jerry
Species Competition this weekend is cancelled.
Unfortunately the weather is deteriorating rather than improving, we will postpone until 2nd and 3rd July, if we can hold it then, but if the weather is against us, we will perhaps, if weed allows just hold it in the harbour.
The weather is not looking brilliant but a decision will be made tomorrow (Thursday) as to whether we can do the Species Comp this weekend.
Any one planning to enter if this weekend please put your name down to give us an idea of uptake.
Thanks Jerry
