    MMSI Number?

Duncan, I was interested with your "MARS" reference, so searched it out on the net and was well impressed to find that you can search for any boat / callsign and get their MMSI / owner details. Interestingly Blue Warrior MMSI / boat is not on the site yet, so must be that MARS gets updated later. I have sent an "amended equipment" update to teh radio licening site to tell them I have a DSC set fitted, presumably they will automatically assign me an MMSI now I have told them ? MARS Ship search
  2. It was and I notice it said March further down. ( Deliberate mistake of course, just to see if you read it )
  3. Added some more pictures to the Burnham trip report. ( If it disappears after first loading just redisplay and all will be fine ).

    Pbsbac Link

Definitely no problems, the more links the merrier ( and the higher rated the site becomes ). Link away

    Fly Fishing

Sam, I have a rod with line that you are more than welcome to borrow. Try practicing in a field without a hook on the end to start. ( and when you do fish with a hook wear a hat and glasses as it is easy when learning to put the fly right in the back of your head/eyes ( actually is probably not that bad as I have survived and as you know if there is a possibility of injury / mishap then I am your man !! )
  7. Or you can get stainless steel ones for

  9. Iv'e seen the way you fillet whiting - not surprised it is gritty
  10. It was a record month in March with hits up 50% to 478178. The site served out 4540873 KBytes ( will have to watch this as could hit our limit if we get even bigger ) Search terms used to get to us include :- poole bay small club 9 hits biguns 4 hits ( hmmm ! ) miniature daschund training 3 hits ( still trying to work this one out !?! ) seaworker 3 hits seaworker 22 3 hits dawn raider pics dawn raider (shark) raider boats uk
  11. If you have one going spare Terry I will take you up on the offer I notice Kam has offered a spare disc as well. Disc or scale weight will do nicely ( and I am sure that there are others who need weights to drag also ). My boat is in for outboard repair on thye Saturday before the Shambles trip, so hopefully will be ready for the Shambles trip.
  12. Still, might not have caught many fish over that way but Bournemouth beat Bristol City this evening, so I am well happy
  13. Interesting Rich. I noticed also that we only started catching when the drift speed was around 0.6 knots ( as shown on GPS ). This seems to concur with your experience. Kam, Yes please to the spare brake disc.
  14. Sounds almost perfect to me - apart from maybe too much weight ( I would have thought around 10-15 lb ideal for 16ft boat ) ? I have been trying to get something like this for myself. You haven't got a spare one by any chance I was using an old speedboat anchor ( folding type ) but it spins in the drift and actually unravelled the old polyprop rope I was using to drag it with ( wasnt going to use my nice anchor warp for that job ).
  15. Nope, it "crash landed" but didnt break the rudder ( by which I presume you mean the bit on the bottom ). My outboard doesn't hit the ground when lowered, so travelled with it in the "down" position all the way back,

    Outboard Help

Bob, I would go with that. I had a similar experience ( except in my case I forgot to open the valve ! ). The fuel tank actually started collapsing as the fuel was sucked out leaving a vacumn.
  17. The club's website ( ie. This one ! ) was reviewed by the Fishing Fan website on the 16th March and gained a score of 8/10. The species pages were deemed to be the best on the web. ( well done Bob F and Adam F ). The review is available at the following URL :- Website Review
  18. Welcome onboard Hunter I am sure you will find a wealth of information on here.

  20. On the recent Burnham trip, I successfully destroyed the hinge that holds the outboard up in the tilted postion. ( I should use a piece of wood as per others and tie down the outboard leg to the trailer ( no power tilt on mine ). Would recommend this action since apart from an inability to reverse when this hinge is broken the new parts are going to cost about
  21. Burnham report ( thanks to Adam ) is now available under Fishing Reports section. ( Still working out why report disappears when top nev bar is loaded first time ( Just re-select and it is displayed OK ) ( or get to it from the picture on the front page of the web site. )
  22. and the waders
  23. Try this for a dirty boat ! ( note the nice blood streak by steering wheel ).
  24. Sam, You forgot to mention my catch. One strap conger !! ( still at least it stopped me blanking ) Had day off work today as so tired it is unbelievable. Cleaning the boat at the moment - it is incredible how much sand is in it ( In fact that incredible I have taken some pictures to show others how lucky we are with our nice clean slipways. ) and how much blood I managed to lose from the cut on my finger - if we hadn't carried a first aid kit I would have been in real trouble. Our buddy boat were really friendly and it is a shame that we didn't get into the fish to the same degree as the others, but as they said "that's fishing for you". ( and as I said, when you come down we can show you where not to catch as well ). On another day though it could have been a different story. Despite tipping tackle box over / 4:30 start for me / nearly losing wheel of trailer / broken engine tilt / gashed finger - it was still a nice day out and I would do it again for sure.
  25. Really - I never realised
