I had someone bring me over some Spiderwire Stealth braid from the states. They got the 50 lb braid 150 yards and moss green colour. Very nice stuff at $12.94 from Walmart. If we had enough demand, I might be able to arrange a larger quatity to be shipped over. When I got my order from Tacklebargains they threw in some coloured beads as a "freeby".

Martin, Was only discussing the same this morning. I shall be returning any large Bass I catch this summer and keeping only the smaller ones. ( Assuming I catch any big ones ) Bass are extremely slow growing and by replacing the large bass we are replacing breeding stock. Replacing small bass and the odds are lower they will survive to breed ( netted etc. ).

Adam, Well my engine is fine - flushed it through with water and had problems using the muffs, so used a dustbin full of water !! - Lovely jet of water coming from the engine now. As Bob suggested, it was salt deposits doing it. Well relieved Therefore, I can come out to play one day this week at least. My boat wil take three, fancy a Plaice trip if weather OK ?

After the last trip back there seemed to be hardly any water coming from my engine. Does anyone have some Flush Muffs I could borrow to check out the engine before I tow the boat to Weymouth and find the engine is not working properly !! ? ( I have some I won on E-Bay but suspect they will not be here on time ).

Martin, My Orkney 520 ( 17 ft long ) has a 30 HP Honda 4 stroke and manages 17-18 knots loaded up. ( 9 knots when engine in need of service ). I am actually pondering over getting an aux engine. Need to get a bracket first !

Yur welcome anytime Bob. The service certainly did the trick, I was up around 17 knots coming back in against the tide ( small tide admittedly, but an improvement on the 9 knots with the tide before !! ). Well impressed with the Plotter/ FF. Not in glorious technicolor like some, but found various marks with ease. Also found a wreck / mark near Bournemouth Pier and managed to get snagged in it as well. Dont know how the fishfinder works not having found any fish to plot !! Christchurch Ledge next for me.

I meant commission from the brokers ( tongue firmly in cheek ). I fancy taking Neo from Weymouth, but not sure if I can make it yet ( my son's birthday on the 11th ).
