Dark at 15:30 local time (14:30 ours ) - short day here as not light until 8:00 apparently I am assuming trondheim is the place ? But "only" 62 deg north here. Just realised no way near far enough north. Must be dark 24/7 up there

Out in Sweden at the moment and interestingly noted that Sundsvall where I am is at same latitude as Troms Explorer. Tempting to go and catchn one of those big cod .......
  4. Loved the "E-mail web site on new weight of wreck" - lol What cracking conditions. We had somewhat rougher conditions on Friday.
  5. Nice one Dan, good to see the whiting in as well.
  6. Way to go Trevor. Was out by the Nab today and conditions were certainly not as in your picture ! - also we had 3 cod in total to the boat ( of 12 anglers ).

    Another newcomer

Welcome Martyn. Nice boat. My friend has a DA 23 and have been well impressed with her. I think Bucklers Hard is actually in club waters ( line through St catherines Point and then to the west of that ( so Sowely / Lepe etc. is all "in club waters" ).
  8. Cracking fish Will, I saw the catch report earlier and noted they had been released. Nice one, there could be competition for the Bass C&R trophy yet .
  9. Due to receiving a company car with my new job, I am having to sell my Honda Civic ( no room on drive for 3 cars ! ) I have Full Service History and the car has always been serviced at main dealers. 4 new disks and disk pads just fitted plus 2 new front tyres. It is the new model Civic - 2.2 I-TDCI Sport 2006 ( 55 plate ) 62K miles ( all motorway ) MP3 Player Air Conditioning / Climate Control Manufacturers warranty until April/May time. Gets 50 MPG + with ease. Towbar fitted. Looking for
  10. I will fish it if anyone wants to crew.
  11. Patrick, Ditto here, or happy to come out with you to demonstrate how it is done. One thing I never do is attach the warp to the stern of the boat as if stuck it is surely the quickest way to pull the boat down. Also, if done properly the warp should never be under the boat. Regarding which side, I steam my anchor out with the buoy on the starboard side, for no other reason than the helm is on that side, so easy to keep an eye on the buoy at all times.
  12. If there is settled weather on the weekend, I will definitely be interested in taking Neo out for a crack at the cod. Shall have to see what the forecast brings.
  13. Not bad for a nights fishing. I usually manage to blank when I beach fish

    Solent Fisher

Apparently a club member saw one of these at the Netley Boat jumble and thought club members might be interested. The link to their website is here :- Solent Fisher Looks interesting ( and a superb choice of engine I have to say ). Appears to be a Wilson Flyer ?
  15. Always fancied one of these myself but noted the other day the company which was importing them seems to have disappeared ( they were next to the tip in Christchurch ) Craigcat
  16. Probably due to the ISP ? or maybe some global setting on the forum. Wonder if sending an e-mail ( via the forum ) works still ?
  17. Reproduced here :- Ofcom consultation on introducing Administered Incentive pricing for the maritime and aeronautical sectors: October update Ofcom continues to support the established principle of applying discounts to spectrum fees payable by charities. The RNLI may see its charges fall as a result of our proposal to offer a single, lower cost licence for multiple users. Ofcom is making no proposals to impose charges on Mountain Rescue teams for radio spectrum. Consultation still open
  18. I agree it is wrong for the RNLI to be charged
  19. If you fancy a trip on an E-Tec powered Orkney, you are more than welcome aboard Neo Tom. BTW: Weather forecast at moment is very good for Saturday.
  20. Pete - Your score by my calcs is 96. Chuffed with my score of 9 ! - As realised that I actually caught 2 species which alluded everyone else
  21. Went out to have a go off the Needles. Late start ( 11 AM ) but good job really as it was still foggy on the way out. Once on the mark an absolutely beautiful day but nothing to write home with regard to the fishing. 4 Pout and 2 whiting for me ( one reasonable one of 2lb 4oz though ). On the return we had the full flood to help us on the way past Hurst and up the Solent. Got past the choppy bit and opened Neo up. 23 knots on a smooth sea - what fun but I started getting a sensation that the boat wasn't going like it should ( seemed to start getting slightly sluggish ) and then a loud alarm sounds .... Turned off engine thinking "what the ????". Turned ignition back on and alarm goes off - the "hot" light is lit. Engine is steaming a bit so peered over the transom and there is a Tesco bag wrapped around the leg over the water intake. Cleared the bag, started the engine, water coming out OK and no alarm. Phew ! Then hammered back in with a Pirate 21 back in for the rest of the way, so all OK after a brief scare.
  22. How about Horse Mackeral ( i.e. Scad ) ? We had one of these off the Needles on Sunday. ( Apologies in advance if you are thinking " course I know the difference etc. etc. )
