  1. Have them on Neo, but definitely need to be careful launching in shallow water. I managed to bend one by 90 degrees and to break the plastic connector on one of the actuators. ( metal tabs ). I think composite tabs might be even less forgiving !

    Galley Update

The Wavebox ones look pretty neat I have to say. I think the drawback with using an inerter + microwave is that a microwave is going to draw 400-600W so an nverter is going to need to draw 40 -50 amps + to power this, so a pretty heafty drain on the battery for starters. The wavebox has a lower power when plugged in through a socket I note - drawing a smaller 20 A but still requiring some current if connected directly I would say the inverter option is not going to be any more efficient as in all likelyhood the wavebox probably contains a built in one anyhow But you are goi9ng to need a big battery either way

    TV

Jim, With digital TV you will either get a perfect picture or one which breaks up ( as you have ) - there is no in between. Amplifier may do the trick but not guaranteed. Bigger aerial or one tuned to digital frequencies is best route but at the price surely worth trying the maplin amp first ? Not so sure about the dual aerial, doesnt sound feasible to me - prob for different channels ?
  6. Have a good birthday Duncan
  7. Welcome to the club. I usually launch from Wick, so bound to see you out and about. Give me a shout if you see me out there.

  9. Received this from BASS society. UK anglers will soon start to see a disastrous decline in both the number and size of bass available in the important and valuable Recreational Fishery. That is the conclusion from studies that show an alarming reduction in the number of juvenile fish coming into Southern nursery areas indicating a collapse in recruitment in recent years. And if that isn't bad enough, this harsh winter could very well have wiped out most of the young fish expected to have recently entered the nursery areas "Typically young bass will spend four or five years growing in protected shallow inshore areas" said John Leballeur, Chairman of the BASS Restoration Project team "And it's not until those fish leave the nursery areas and spread out around the coast that anglers and fishermen will notice that there are far fewer young fish joining the fishery to replace those now being taken as adults in the commercial fishery." Bass are a non-quota species and are not subject to any significant controls on the total amount that can be landed by the commercial fishing fleet. With fishermen struggling to operate within reduced quotas for other species, available stocks of mature fish are now being fished down. "With little hope of strong replenishment, the future isn't looking too positive" said John Leballeur. Hopes that these problems are local to the UK have been dashed by reports that the same concerns are now being expressed by anglers in Europe. An item posted on a French angling website illustrates their concerns. Some news from last year with a decline in Bass landings of line caught fish of 40% on the Breton markets, "Peche au Bar" are questioning current evaluation of the stock (2000 & 2006), concerned about the exploitation and targeting of larger breeding stock, and the general malaise that is all too familiar to us. They propose a close season from February to March. "In these conditions, the line fishermen require implementation of a stock assessment worthy of the name, and that they identify a number of parameters affecting that stock : catches of course, but also recruitment, disturbances in the coastal zone, impact of sonar emissions, degradation of the quality of water etc..?" auto pilot

Graham, AWOL has a Raymarine Autopilot system fitted, so Maverick ( martin ) should be able to help.
  11. Charlie, I have mine on the policy too. Barely added a penny to it
  12. According to the e-mail I received the parking and entry are free to buying customers. Jumble Sellers entry fee is
  13. Nice one Gordon. I took Neo out today to "clear the cobwebs". No fishing but was good to check that all was running OK. Roll on the Spring.
  14. The dairy is near Wimborne. BH21 4ED. The jumble is being run by Cut n Cover and they are located at the same place. Hope this helps.
  15. Might take the rods with me tomorrow as well then Is there plenty of water to get in ? - I thought the tides looked quite small ?
  16. Trailer board all present and correct. Trim Tab repaired ( once glue has set ). Launch and quick trip out from Wick planned for Sunday. Any takers ?
  17. I thought it was lighthearted but also misguided as it was aimed at those who are actually getting off their backsides and trying to do something for the sea anglers - or did I misinterpret it ? It will be interesting to see of how many people voicing opinions on "Article 47" have actually read the thing ? I certainly am not having my opinions determined by some video.!! BTW Article 47 was discussed on Keith Arthur's Tight Lines programme. in a much more balanced way.
  18. Tempting, Anyone fancy a trip out on Sunday ( assuming I get a trailer board and trim tab repaired. ) ?

  20. I find that a bit strange though but somewhat charming. Cue Hawkwind track from the eighties
  21. In fact I have been trying my hardest to get the same "problem" you have and to no avail. I have tried chaing the driver for my keyboard from standard PS2 to Enhanced. What driver is your laptop using ? ( Check in Control Panel / Device manager / keyboards ).
  22. Bring it on
  23. Tried same on mine an it also does not show a key between the Shift and the Z. But of course my keyboard has one and works ||||||\\\\\\\\||||||| So the fact that the key does not show on the preview is irrelevant. Been trying regional settings and the US layout has the \| characters on both the hash and tilde keys as well as the normal key. - No pound sign. switching back to English layout and I get keyboard correctly.
  24. Into Control Panel and select Regional and language options From the window select "Keyboard and Languages" Select "Change Keyboard" Ensure you have English ( United Kingdom) - United Kingdom as the default input language and Installed services has EN Engligh ( United Kingdom ). If not then add it and set it as the default.
  25. I hope the petrol station is open over the bank holiday ???
