Ditto here - happy to show how to deploy / recover using the alderney buoy method ( also a good excuse to get out ! ) I actually lost my first anchor on the ledge on my second trip in the boat, just after joining the club some 9-10 years ago and Martin explained how to rig a Bruce anchor to trip and since then I am still using the same anchor. ( My first anchor was a daneforth which is / was hopeless in the rocky ledge ) I have had one or two occasions where I thought my brice anchor would be history, but so far have managed to trip / retrieve it.

You are getting too good at this forum administration stuff - I am still looking for where the setting is made

Really impressive the lack of camera shake when doing the boat to boat shots. Makes me wish I had time off work to go now

Had an interesting conversation regarding the practice of returning all the female bream and keeping only the male fish. The male fish make a nest to attract the female fish to lay eggs. Once fertilised the males then guard the nest. Therefore, if we take all the males and only leave female fish, what will happen to the unguarded nest ? Furthermore to complicate matters a bream can turn from male to female evidently ? What is thevreasoning for returning all the females, it doesn't seem to be based upon anything scientific ?

We had a slow start to the day. Despite the comment "Paul's caught a bream there must be thousands down there :)" That seemed to be the kiss of death as no bream for next 2 hours. We then moved to another mark and slow still. Water was murky due to the rain I guess. As tide slackened though we started catching and had around 30 bream by the end of the day and some reasonable sized ones as well. As always was great fun and a good time.

Found that a neat way of posting a link is to use the link icon as above ( as per normal ). This gives a link like this :- http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums If you then click the switch icon on the top left of the edit window you will see the "BB Markup language" like this http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums You can then edit the line to change the text displayed for the link eg. Poole Bay Forums Which is displayed like this :- Poole Bay Forums

Itr is possible to create multiple calendars as well. I have created one for Competitions but of course needs filling in. Not sure if this is easier than having all in the one calendar.

I received the following from 123-reg and evidently we will be affected. -------------------------- Server maintenance In an effort to bring our customers a better level of service, we will soon be carrying out essential maintenance in our Data Centre which will involve an upgrade to our hosting platform to improve system performance and reliability. The purpose of this email is to advise you that you are one of the customers affected by this maintenance and to make you aware of the short amount of downtime you will experience during the upgrade. The upgrade itself will take place at 12:30AM on the 12th May, during which time there will be a small outage that will last approximately 3 hours. We will take precautions to ensure that this move goes as smoothly as possible. Please ensure that you have a full and recent backup of your website and data before the above date. Please note that only your web hosting will be affected, email will continue to function as normal. Our status page will be updated to indicate the progress of the maintenance which can be viewed at the following location… http://www.123-reg.co.uk/support/system-status/
