    Anchoring

Actually, we had three cod whilst dragging anchor Seriously though, I have never usually had any trouble holding anchor apart from that one day when the anchor refused to set on two attempts. Third time down it stuck in but we had three cod before then whilst dragging slowly.

    codding

3 cod caught today on manta ray. Not by myself but 2 guys from work. One had 2 cod and it was his first time sea fishing. As always was a good laugh, although I didn't like the party balloons much .... And really good news was no red weed at all
  5. Can you remember how it works Paul? Oops sorry I will get my coat Don't mock the skipper who's crew came second in the Open (with the largest fish overall too), Small Boats Rule!!!! Indeed. I was going to say it worked very well thanks last time I was out Certainly lived up to its name "Trackfish" The bottle of scotch was nice too
  6. Ditto here Dan. I have a Navman as well, so can show you on my boat. Any time you are passing.
  7. I heard that there was one caught. Will await the post .....
  8. Same story on Manta Ray, even with a charter skipper on board, we still couldn't use this to our advantage ! I Had what looked like a cod until a conger surfaced plus a few whiting but no mr cod today. We had good whiting action around slack water ending up with around 10 fish in total.plus 2 doggies and that was it. Still was a great day to be out and plenty of pizza and sausage rolls plus coffee on tap, plus good company, so made a really enjoyable day. Will be repeating the trip in 2 weeks time, so hoping the fish play ball next time. Thanks for the trip Al.
  9. Try the "VIP" area at the back mate That area is not accessible to club members evidently !!
  10. Just seen thread Terry, hope you had a good birthday. All the best Paul
  11. Had similar bit of luck when I lost a rod overboard, only to "catch" it with my spare rod then reeled it in to then land the smooth hound that had pulled it overboard in the first place ! Hope the cod fishing starts to,pick up as we have a trip on Manta Ray booked or mid Nov. fingers crossed. Although I intend to get out before then mind
  12. Agreed. Much of the work goes unnoticed and is much appreciated. Special mention must go to Charlie and Rob for all the effort and running around.
  13. The Blonde Ray is held by James Rood who was my crew on Neo. Not bad for his first ever ray
  14. Was well pleased to have got my crew his first ever Blonde Ray and the second placed fish. Was even more pleasing that we had agreed to go halves on the winnings Was a bit rough out there mind, poor old James was sick three times before we moved to the edge of the spoils and he caught the ray. Only just fitted in my landing net as well. First blonde ray of size to be caught on neo as well. Result Ps. Many thanks for the bottle of scotch as well as donated by Charlie.

  16. Yes the Note "The dispute erupted when the Normandy fleet returned to sea on October 1 and discovered how much British boats had harvested during the summer period, when French fishermen maintained a voluntary ban to preserve stocks." I guess we would do the same if it were the other way around ?? Or is it the other way around already ( eg bass pair trawling ) ?
  17. I use google chrome for everything on the pc. It has such a smaller footprint and much faster I find.

The good news is all the squid for sponsorship from Coles has arrived. I will hang onto it until we know the prognosis.

    Rod repairers?

Got the top ring of my solid c repaired at Christchurch Angling Centre, so can recommend.
  20. Would have loved to but can't get away from work - well actually, I did get away from work but need to work from home whilst awaiting next squid delivery. ( Thought it would be tempting fate expecting Helen to move all the squid again ! ) Would have loved to have been able to fish from the VIP section
  21. 8-30 in the evening as well, you would have thought they would have chosen a time later in the day - unbelievable !!
  22. Sorry to hear the news. These people doing this sort of thing have no thought for their victims. Massive thumbs up to Wedger, at the end of the day, that is what our club is all about.
  23. We had no forum available yesterday. This was due to using all the allocated database space. Therefore, in the longer term, I need to clear out old personal messages and older posts ( which I will archive away for the future ) So if your old pm start disappearing you will know why
  24. PJ, Learnt a long time ago you didn't know what you were doing ( Only kidding ! )
  25. Hi, Christchurch as well, I have an Orkney 520. Don't get out near enough but when I do I launch from Wick.
