Reading Fugazi's earlier description of the problem with his engine, I think some are jumping down the wrong path assuming the problem was corrosion of the waterways. His problem ( as described in an earlier post ) was corrosion of a washer causing the water to enter the crankcase and mix with the oil. I hear the cries of "what has this to do with engine being 4 stroke or 2 stroke" and indeed this probably has nothing to do with the fact the engine was 4 stroke ( although I can think of many reasons it would have a worst affect on a 4 stroke than a 2 stroke engine, but will leave that to those who evidently have superior knowledge on the subject ). Just moved all these engine discussions into their own forum. Noticed I hadn't answered your question Bob. ( and indeed shropfisher ). You are both quite correct re: comparing like with like. The old Honda was a carburated 4 stroke - old technology and was not running as it should and indeed the trim of my boats was never correct However, the point I was trying to get across is that the old " 2 stroke are less economical " is not necessarily true. ( albeit witha flawed argument ! ) Perhaps one day I can do a consumption test with Alun J to compare like with like ( although I have the heavier boat )

Might seem obvious but have you got the attachments selected in the "view" options ( ie. from the menu bar - view and then columns ) Make sure attachment is ticked in the list

Downloaded and installed Firefox, just to see if any of the scare stories on here were true. Guess what ? It works a dream and no evidence of screwing up my PC. It even asks you if you want to make it the default browser.

No chance tomorrow - still have nasty chest infection and I doubt I will be OK by Saturday.

The guy who PJ bought his E-Tec from had no problem shifting 3 of them in as many days and it certainly was not for next to no value ! Admittedly I think that Neo would go for more if fitted with a 4 stroke as opposed to a 2 stroke E-Tec, but I know which one I would prefer to have fun wise ( and after all that is why I have a boat ) and I am less concerned that I might get say another

I had a 4 stroke Honda of "known" reliability. Having had to have the carbs cleaned out twice and spending fortunes on servicing etc. I am glad I havent gone the same route. Engine was 7 years old. Agreed it is a bit of a gamble, but 1 year in, so far, so good. See you in 5 years Alun In the meantime would you like a tow PS; I only put it on here lightheartedly. 2 Stroke V 4 stroke - each have their disadvantages / advantages.

Glad to hear all is OK now. Anyhow, I would be interested to hear others opinions on the photo software ( Picassa ). It seems pretty good to me and I know there was an earlier thread on photo software. I have catalogued every single photo on my PC now ( and that includes all the website ones as well ) - astounding how many there are !

Surprised you went anywhere near it again given your earlier comment re: $2 being no where near enough to make up for having a load of Google 5hit trying to take over my PC.

A word of warning ...... As I stated, you can select what you want installed. The Picassa software is well worth installing as is AdWare. Just no need to install Firefox ( and even then I am not convinced it is that bad ) And you will then have photo manipulation software / photo album software which is free and works well.
