Done 6 auto replies back within first 5 minutes of sending then all seems quiet. Re Ol Nige's speech.....I was very impressed ......a straight talking plain speaking effort ...No one was under any illusion or misinterpretation of his position. Wish all politicians could take note and learn how to deliver a point without all the "polispeak" I am becoming more and more cynical in my old age and am becoming ultra-irritated by what passes for a democratic process in this country of late. I need to go fishing Fogs just lifting here in Easttleigh but its too late to make a day of it Ah Well there will always be next weekend .........If I wasn't off to Wales that is

Well that didn't go well Don't suppose an AA breakdown van can be classed as a new species? Was on my way down the A31 to Cobbs when I noticed the car exhibited a bit of a wheel wobble Drove a few more miles eager to get to the boat when decided I better check assuming a balance weight had fallen off. Pulled into the Esso Petrol Station and found front drivers side wheel and Hub VERY HOT and smelly! Quick call to AA services and 40mins later nice man turned up and stripped, cleaned and lubricated disk brake No fault found although intermittent calliper sticking was surmised. Eventually got boat off drystack and gave it a good seeing to as hadn't been out in months and months .In fact it has been sooooooo long that the fuel had evaporated from the running fuel tank....Note to self ............... close vent on tank between trips So spent some more time refuelling a couple of tanks and eventually ready to venture out into Holes Bay Note to self .........Advertise for crew next time ....have you ever tried picking up a mooring buoy single handed when you're inside the cabin trying to steer the b$$$$y thing in a cross wind . Gave up and spent an hour or so playing at fishing next to the twin sails bridge ...needless to say nothing to report so as it was getting a bit chilly and breezy and the light was going called it a day and returned to the drystack pontoon where I remembered to close the petrol tank air vent valve before waving goodbye to the boat for another god knows how long. The old boat never fails to surprise me ..after all those months of inactivity batteries were good and she started first time on the key and ran as smooth as silk The day ended on a happy note ...Car got me home the 45miles without a reoccurrence of the sticking brake issue and Missus served me up Turkey Soup...Result Peteg

I'm Going to try Holes Bay and if necessary the Harbour tomorrow for a Flounder or whatever else throws itself onto my hook . Last attempt to increase my 2015 species tally from a miserable 2 Any bets on me catching 47 species in the harbour on the same day to top the leader board..........Good Odds with Betfred Don't like the way the wind strength is increasing though

I experienced difficulty in breaking out my manson supreme even when using the sliding shank' It seemed that I wasn't able to get the optimum lift angle. So I re-rigged it as picture so that it will definately pull out backwards if cable ties snap. It is a super high holding anchor but for me the 7.5kgs was a bit over the top for my boat so I got hold of an additional 5kg original Bruce which I prefer to man-handle or wimp handle It works a treat .I keep the manson as a backup. Cant fault the Manson for holding power ....it just seems to hold too well

Just received from a colleague- looks serious – Government looking to claw money from every avenue Looks like it could be close to becoming PAYE again…………Not for me of course …………..I’m a wealthy pensioner according to the newspapers and have more spare cash than todays young workers. B*****ks Please pass on to try and get those votes up Subject: FW: petition Chaps, Link blow to petition against the new ‘dividend tax’ due to start next April. Needs to get to 100000 signatures to invoke a debate in parliament, so some way to go as yet. Please feel free to pass on to other colleagues. For info last week a close relative of mine (with his own small business) met and spoke personally to Anna Soubry MP, Minister for Small Business (and our local MP where I live). When questioned on the new tax she said that if the subject is raised with George Osbourne his reply is along the lines of - where else would we get the money from. So nothing to do with fairness or business ethics, just an easy and long standing target. Interestingly at the same meeting most people running their own small business were unaware of this new additional 7.5% tax and were somewhat shocked at the news! Best wishes Ed Subject: petition https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/106525 Best Regards Pete

Trev Have experienced both pontoon and drystack options at Cobbs since 2007 with boat drystacked for the last 2 years. It is more expensive to drystack but to me much more convenient and I dont have to go through the antifouling and anode replacement saga twice a year as when on Fpontoon . The bloody long walk and sometimes restricted parking.didnt help either My boat although listed as 5.94 metres long in the sales brochure is actually charged at 6.2 metres at Cobbs where they charge for overall length including extremities e.g bow roller ,outboard etc so be prepared to haggle. Cant really say much negative about the Cobbs drystack ,,,,Guys are very good and accommodating ,I dont need to phone in advance ,just turn up and they drop it in(not literally ) Better parking and other faciities than on Fpontoon and you can have the boat transferred to a maintenance stack if you want to sort things yourself or put in the water at no extra charge.. It's closer to the fuel pontoon and there is always deep water in the main channel. I did have a problem with the hydraulic trim tab ram being broken when the tab took the boat weight as it was being lifted due to tab not being fully raised but they phoned me to let me know they had damaged it and replaced it at their own cost without any prompting on my part.Job done within a couple of weeks and no further occurrences since i now ensure they are fully raised after each trip. Can't say fairer than that. Only problem I have is with bloody seagulls sh$$$ing all over it as its right on the top of the stack and gets the majority of the weather. This season cost me £3160.14 paid on monthly DD Hope this helps......I wouldnt change back to Fpontoon as although cheapest pontioon at Cobbs it does have a number of restrictions .I think Fpontoon works out about £500 pa cheaper for mine.

Sorry Mike....I cheated ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yUNwq-Qu3Q Seems a very expensive and innefficient way of picking up and off loading a few strands of weed to me Much better if they got rid of the rake and fitted it with a combined ragworm trawl and a sandeel and shrimp net could make a few bucks with one of those at low tide
