  6. Used Awol more this year than the last couple of years, mostly for cruising and family days with some fishing thrown in. Had a great time with other club members earlier in the year crossing the channel to Alderney Had loads of work undertaken on the boat this year. First was the engine bay hatch adapted to stop water spilling into the bilges, engine bay fire extinguisher replaced, new batteries, battery charger and shore power all fitted. Engine out to allow new hydraulic steering hoses to be fitted plus cleaning bilges and painting all those inaccessible parts. Also had some of the outside upholstery recovered. Awol is now better than she has been for a while. All that's left to do is the annual cut and polish we are then ready for the beginning of the 2014 season not that we have finished using her this winter yet.

  15. Probably not the best place to advertise a vacancy but worth a try Our plumbing and heating side has far too much work with Lewis our only qualified engineer struggling to cope. We need help in the form of a fully qualified and experienced plumbing and heating engineer. Applicants must have domestic ACS and be fully conversant in all aspects of plumbing and heating. An ability to fault find on boilers would be useful but not absolutely necessary. The successful applicant would take pride in both their work and appearance. Benefits would include a company vehicle and clothing with rates of pay being negotiable and dependant on experience. Hours of work are generally 8am-5pm with some overtime available. If you have the qualifications and would relish working in a varied environment with a small friendly but busy family firm pm/email me or phone Lewis on 07766 894833 Martin

  20. The day was a bit pants for us. First chosen mark was about 5 miles offshore but apart from 1 conger it was barren. Moved inshore to a bank not a touch another move onto the Dolphin sands which produced a few dogs and a 7lb thornback ray for dean. That was our only weighable fish. Dean had a bit of an accident falling over and breaking his Kenzaki 20-30 it had only been used twice he is understandably gutted....wonder what he would like for Christmas
  21. Welcome Andy, join in and make the most of your membership. If you're on the water tomorrow give the members a shout on 6 as mentioned earlier in the thread Plenty of time to log into the comp if you like just post in Robs link or you can book in on the day with a committee member by calling on ch6 as said earlier. If you cant get hold of one any other club member can relay your wishes to one of the committee boats Martin
