Happy birthday Charlie and Dave. If you want to wet a line today just poke it out of the window, it's hissing down
-
Thanks Charlie any night for me
-
I would like a look at that rig at the meeting please,
-
As they said above, take care and a speedy recovery mate.

A boat of around 25' (8metres) will use £300-£400 in fuel plus mooring say £60 plus digs plus eats and drinks. The fuel and mooring is usually shared between crew members so actual cost will depend on how many crew on each boat. You thinking of coming along?

Cowboy in Heaven A cowboy appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. 'Have you ever done anything of particular merit?' St. Peter asked. 'Well, I can think of one thing,' the cowboy offered. 'On a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota , I came upon a gang of bikers who were threatening a young blonde woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, 'Now, back off or I'll kick the crap out of all of you!' St. Peter was impressed, 'When did this happen?' 'Couple of minutes ago.'

That's in the other tank

Depends on how much fishing/drifting we do on the way over however probably in the region of 100 litres. As you know refuelling times depends on tides for the inner harbour access, if we can fuel up on arrival no need then to refuel until it's time to come home leaving the only things to bring a day to an early halt is either weather or Dean running out of beers For those that haven't been I allow for 3-400 litres of fuel for the 4 days on a 25' boat
-
Paul I go over with full fuel tank(350l) then fuel up over their if possible on arrival then as Rob says refuel before the trip home. The fuel is cheaper but it's not in my opinion worth worrying about any savings that could be made versus safety. I have never bought any of the duty free booze etc so can't comment re savings to be had.

Happy birthday Jason Martin

I had this type of scupper on my previous boat, they kind of worked but if 2 of us fished at the stern they did allow water in, so much so that I ended up sealing them up. Would have worked better if the floor in the boat was a bit higher above the waterline. So work out if your floor when loaded is well above the waterline if it is then they will work just fine

Finally made your mind up then Dave. Good luck with the sale

Now cleared out, waz up

Many happy returns old fella, hope you spent it on the water or maybe somewhere nice with the family

Paul Peter and Matt are departing from Portland in their newly acquired Marlin 755, in previous years they made the journey in their Marlin 6 one of the smallest craft in our club to make the trip. I have slept on the boat many times as have other members. The only moorings available are swinging in Braye Harbour. Only once have we had to raft up. It is a good idea to take along a dingy not for rowing ashore (water taxi is easier ) but to leave on your claimed buoy so you have somewhere to moor on return from a days fishing. Why not post on here and wsf for crew you really would be more than welcome to join us Any other questions ask away

I can't id the boat but In pic 3 it seems to have a keel which on a motor boat this size is unusual. I would guess it started life as a sailing dingy. I also think 15hp is about the max I would put on the back.
-
I certainly started using small boats within Poole Harbour as did many others so most of us have been where you are You first need to tell us what make of boat you have as all manufacturers give a size for maximum hp engine to be used on their boats, if you don't have that a photo would help identify what's needed. You need to consider this as if you were to go over the boats rated hp you could invalidate your insurance. If you intend never to go outside the harbour then 15hp is more than adequate as the speed limit within PH is 10 knots for the summer months

Probably not condensation as that normally starts in the coldest room at the top or in rooms with high humidity ie bathroom/kitchens. Condensation is caused by warm air carrying moisture, warm air rises and is attracted to colder surfaces, when the two meet condensation appears. Rarely is low level dampness condensation or rising damp more likely to be debris in the cavity bridging the cavity or air bricks not ducted through to under the floor so venting the cavity. Mal was in before me, he's your best bet by far
